Participating is very simple. Each school just needs to:

1. Choose a meaningful word in any official or co-official language of the EU (e.g., freedom, unity, solidarity, respect, diversity, peace, justice, hope, friendship, future…).

2. Select a song that represents that language and expresses the values related to the chosen word.

3. Create a digital poster in A4 format (for example, using Canva), including the word, its meaning, and visual elements related to the song, the language, etc.

4. Post your work here on Padlet, including:

   • The name of your school and country

   • The word, language, and song title

   • A short explanation (in English) of why you chose it

   • Your digital poster as an image or PDF

Your task is to create a short video (1–2 minutes) that gives voice to the emotions behind a song (or several ones) that has a positive or meaningful impact on mental health.

How to choose your song:

Select a song that:

• Talks about emotions, inner struggles, or overcoming difficulties

• Transmits a message of hope, resilience, self-love, or calm

• Can be connected to young people’s mental health today

Songs can be in any language, but reflections and videos should be shared in English, or with English subtitles if another language is used.

What to include in your video:

1. The song title and artist

2. A key word that expresses the main emotion (e.g., resilience, hope, sadness, courage…)

4. A symbol or visual element (poster, drawing, scenery…) to visually support your message

5. A spoken reflection, which could be:

   • A student reading a short text

   • A voiceover with a quote or lyric

Let’s create a powerful European “listening wall” of voices and emotions, where music becomes a tool for reflection, connection, and care.

Your voice matters. Your story matters. Let’s listen, feel and support one another through music!

In this project, students from different countries come together to explore how music can express and promote core European values, emotional awareness, and social commitment. Throughout the school year, we will reflect on key themes such as peace, diversity, inclusion, equality, environmental care, and mental health, using music as our main language.

Each month, all participating schools will:

• Work around a European or international commemorative day

• Choose a song that relates to the month’s theme or value

• Create a digital product (poster, video, podcast, etc.)

• Share their work here on Padlet

• Comment on and connect with the contributions of their European peers

  
  

Some months will focus on visual design (e.g., posters), others on oral expression (e.g., videos or voice recordings), and some will encourage team discussions and short online exchanges.

Our goal is to build a shared European voice through music, creativity, and cooperation, because music connects, music empowers, and music unites.

We have chosen a song by Andrius Mamontovas "Geltona, žalia, raudona". This singer is important to Lithuanians because he is a music legend, a symbol of creativity, and the voice of Lithuanian spirit. In his song "Geltona, Žalia, Raudona" (Yellow, Green, Red), he reflects the word "Tėvynė" (Homeland) through the colors of the Lithuanian flag.

The result is a collection of visual posters that reflect friendship, peace, and life, values that resonate across cultures and generations.

The key words and songs chosen are the following:

• “Viure” (Catalan for "To live")
  Song: Live is Life by Opus
  A powerful anthem that reminds us to celebrate life together, with energy and joy.

• “Friendship” / “Amistat” (English & Catalan)
  Songs: If the World Was Ending by JP Saxe & Count on Me by Bruno Mars
  Students reflected on the importance of trust, connection, and support between friends.

• “Freundschaft” (German for "Friendship")
  Song: Auf das, was da noch kommt by Lotte & Max Giesinger
  A hopeful and emotional song that speaks of shared journeys and resilience.

• “Peace” / “Frieden” (English & German)
  Song: Imagine by John Lennon

We have chosen the song “Stand Up” by Cynthia Erivo. This piece resonates with our students because it celebrates togetherness, optimism, and mutual support. In “Stand Up”, the message of “Единство” is carried through friendship, collaboration, and the power of music to bring people closer.

We have chosen the song “World Falls Apart” by Dash Berlin (adapted by our students) because it reflects what happens when balance is lost—and how music can help us restore it. Through this project, our students explored how a song can turn vulnerability into resilience, reminding us that even when everything feels like it is falling apart, we can still find support, connection and inner calm.

   Document 1 second per day showing how the EU impacts your daily life (e.g. Erasmus+, roaming, language learning, etc.).

   Use voiceover and text to present curious or little-known facts (e.g. the EU anthem has no lyrics, or the EU banned single-use plastics).

    Narrate a short personal or imagined story about how an EU decision or policy affects young people.

In this short video, we present our school’s physical Infopoint, where we showcase the work done in the Songs for Europe project.

We explain the goals of the project and highlight some of the songs selected by our students during the October activity, songs that promote freedom, resilience, equality, and other key European values.

This is just the beginning! We’re excited to keep sharing and connecting through music across borders!

Create a song and a vertical video that helps people learn about the European Union, using music, humour, creativity and collaboration.

Working in teams of 3 to 5 students you will:

Step 1. Choose one of the these 5 important historical or contemporary figures who have shaped the EU:

1. Robert Schuman, father of the EU.

2. Simone Veil, first president of the European Parliament.

3. Ursula von der Leyen, current President of the European Commission.

4. Roberta Metsola, current President of the European Parliament and voice of youth engagement.

5. Jean Monnet, architect of post-war European cooperation.

   
   

You can describe their legacy, ideas or impact in your lyrics.

Step 2. Write and record your song:

• Use your own lyrics and melody (can be original or adapted from a known tune).

• Include at least one chorus and two verses.

• Lyrics can be in English or your national language with English subtitles).

• Choose your musical style! Pop, rap, trap, rock, metal, folk, reggaeton… Be creative and make it yours!

  
  

Step 3. Create your music video:

• Format: Vertical video (9:16) for Instagram sharing.

• Duration: max. 2 minute and 30 seconds.

• If possible, use a green screen / chroma to place creative backgrounds (e.g. EU flags, Parliament, people, historical pictures, symbols…)

Step 4. Upload your project to our joint Padlet. Each team must include:

• Team members’ names + school name

• Song title

• Chosen figure

• A short description: “What we wanted to show with this song”

The video captures the beauty of diversity — how different colors, languages, and stories can come together to form one vibrant picture of coexistence. It invites us to look beyond stereotypes and see the person behind every difference.

This creative piece was produced as part of the EPAS November activities, celebrating the International Day for Tolerance (November 16) and the idea of a Europe united by understanding and peace. 🌍✨

Their work reflects the spirit of a young Europe built on dialogue, inclusion, and peace. With creativity and conviction, the two students remind us that every word we choose has the power to heal, to unite, and to inspire change.

Created as part of the EPAS November activities, this presentation contributes to the collaborative mural “Words that Unite” and the celebration of the International Day for Tolerance (November 16). 🌍❤️

For the past three years, our school has also been part of UNICEF’s “Steps Together” programme. We have a Peacemakers Club, we organise virtue workshops, creative activities and various trainings. We work closely with parents, hold municipal meetings with psychologists, and organise community forums.

We have also created three positive break areas with soft seating, and we maintain an anonymous message box where students can safely share concerns. All these initiatives support our mission to foster kindness, respect, and a peaceful school environment.

We believe that small steps taken together can inspire lasting positive change for our whole school community.

"Where is the love?" - a question that the famous band Black Eyed Peas once raised with its song in 2003, as we live in a world of terrorism at home and abroad, of racism and discrimination, of anger and hatred. It's a reminder that tolerance and understanding is missing in many parts of society - due to a lot of prejudice towards people from other cultures, religions, with different looks etc.

We shared music, values, and reflections about what the European Union means to each of us, discovering how differently, and yet how similarly, we experience Europe as young citizens. We also talked about the video projects we are preparing this November… and we can already tell you: they’re going to be amazing!

In terms of music, the students chose "Boys, bugs and men" by Paris Paloma, which clearly mentions the emotional impact of abuse and the control over women as well as the learning of certain power dynamics from an early stage. As a second song that directly talks about violence against women and femicide in Mexico, the students analyzed "Canción sin miedo" by Vivir Quintana, a song which also directs its voice at the country's president in demand of change, of protection, of reforms.

Each group combined a viral video format with an EU-related topic, and this week we will share the best ones on our Instagram.

We start with a fantastic format: School Interviews. Sara and Chada asked teachers and school staff one simple but powerful question:

The letters were absolutely beautiful: full of warmth, creativity, and enthusiasm from the students. But that wasn’t all — the package included Christmas goodies, stickers, postcards, magnets, handmade ornaments, a Bulgarian flag, and even a pendant created by the students at their school!

It was a truly touching gesture that reminded us of the magic of cultural exchange and the power of connection between European schools.

Thank you so much, dear friends from Bulgaria, your gift filled us with joy and brought us closer than ever! A Christmas package from our side will soon be on its way to Svishtov!

Each participating school will select one teacher per ambassador or pair. The task is to interview a teacher from your school about music, memory, and meaning.

Through rhythm, lyrics and humour, this song explains how Monnet believed that Europe should be built step by step, through cooperation, dialogue and shared interests rather than conflict. His ideas laid the foundations for today’s European Union.

We chose and named our song after one famous name- Jean Monnet. This musical peace is about Jean Monnet and his vision for peace and unity in Europe. Our main goal is to stick together to prevent future conflicts.

This song focuses on calm leadership, shared responsibility and building a peaceful Europe through unity.

Through their lyrics, the students reflect on memory, human dignity and the importance of defending human rights in Europe. The song reminds us that the European project is built on peace, justice and respect for all.

Congratulations for transforming history, memory and values into a meaningful musical message.

Your task is to select one song and explain how it connects to one of the six core values of the European Union or to a key aspect of EU history.

Then, you will personally exchange this song with a student from Bulgaria, Germany, Italy or Lithuania to discover how others see Europe through music.

The initiative brought together our English teachers Tsvetelina Telbis (form teacher of Grade 9), Iliyan Farag (form teacher of Grade 11), Diyana Georgieva (form teacher of Grade 10), and Vasilena Todorova (afternoon study teacher of Grade 5), together with the Junior Ambassadors of the European Parliament from our school.

Instead of a traditional interview, the participants chose an original approach, sharing their favourite songs, personal memories, and messages connected to European values such as freedom, solidarity, and inspiration. In this way, music became a bridge between generations and a powerful tool for expressing the values that unite our school community and Europe. 🇪🇺🎵

Your final task is to work in international pairs or small mixed groups (Spain/Bulgaria, Italy/Germany, Spain/Italy, Germany/Lithuania, etc.) to explore one song that represents an important moment in European history and explain its meaning through a short video.

Together, we will create an interactive timeline that tells the story of Europe through music.

Step 1. You will select one song from this proposed list (or suggest an alternative, if agreed) and explain:

• What historical event or period it refers to

• Why this moment is important for Europe

• How the song connects to European values (peace, freedom, democracy, human dignity, equality, human rights, rule of law)

• Why music is a powerful way to remember history

Step 2. You will collaborate with a student from another European country. You will communicate by Google Meet, email or eTwinning messages to:

• Share information

• Divide research tasks

• Write a short script together

Step 3. You will create your Final product. Each international pair will create one short video (max. 2 minutes) including: Song title and artist, Historical context, Main message of the song, European value(s) connected, English subtitles (mandatory), Creative elements (images, drawings, background, symbols, flags, etc.)

All videos will be published on Padlet and then embedded into a Genially interactive timeline showing Europe’s history through songs.

REMEMBER: The steps to follow are:
