MOSFET is unipolar because the current conduction uses only majority carriers 
either electrons or holes, whereas BJT is bipolar because the current 
conduction uses both majority carriers and minority carriers such as 
electrons and holes.
 MOSFETs are voltage controlled devices whereas BJTs are current controlled 
devices.
 MOSFETs also have a higher input impedance, but BJTs have higher gains.
 MOSFETs are less sensitive to temperature variations and because of their 
construction they are more easily integrated on ICs.

  • One of the first difference between a BJT and a MOSFET is that BJT's are bipolar junction transistor while MOSFET are metal oxide semiconductor mainly called field effect transistors.

    • BJT is mostly deals with current while MOSFET main parameter is voltage.

    • The current at the bae plays an important role for BJTs whereas the working of the MOSFET depends on the voltage at the oxide insulated gate electrode.

    • BJTs are divided into PNP and NPN while MOSFET are divided into P type and N type
