<title>As is, this section focuses on the labor movement (institutions/actors) and to some extent the state (if you assume public debates are a euphemism for public policy). It seems like it is missing a component of “shaping cultural ideas/narratives and norms” regarding identities as well as work and employment relations in order to address the problems listed related to systemic racism and sexism and perceptions about unions. This is a key component of student programming (to increase awareness of the labor movement and work and employment relations so that people join the labor movement or support it and workers in the future jobs). To some extent the research teams are also shaping narratives and norms by lifting up issues and presenting a counter narrative to the orthodox econ perspective of employment and labor issues.</title>

<title>This section could be improved by grouping the problems as sub bullets into different buckets, such as: 1) weak labor movement/institutions (2, 3, 7); 2) weak legal and regulatory infrastructure to support workers (1, 6, + labor laws); 3) ideological context (cultural ideas) that divide groups and individuals, hinder democratic engagement and processes, and individualize problems (4, ~5 if framed as general ideas since it is not just about right-wing perceptions); 4) corporate and employer norms/practices that harm workers (5 - union avoidance, 9 (since it is employer use that is the threat not the tech), + lean and mean employment practices, etc.); 5) environmental context (8, perhaps recognition of globalization of labor and/or larger geopolitical threats beyond labor and employment relations (e.g. growing socioeconomic inequality, rise of fascism/authoritarianism, political and economic destabilization).</title>
