So far, during our lessons, what are the concepts you have learnt (or further developed) and how are they influencing the way that you approach problems.

I have learnt through a lot of work done in AP that our 5C will be incredibly necessary. especially our communiction and collaboration skills. There would be multiple time in life where your are required to worik with people you do and don't know. By learning in AP it would greatly benefit those skills and with benefit me in the long run.

What do you think your biggest challenges are going to be in AP?

the biggest challenges in my opinion are going to be development of my 5C skills. the 5C skills are much needed for AP as well as in the outside world or in any other class. I think improving my 5C skills in difficult because I would need to get out of my social bubble to talk to others.

What are you most excited about in AP?

i am excited to do the final assignment where me and a group would work together to create a product and a pitch at the end of the semester. i am excited for this because the task would greatly benefit all of my 5C skills.

Reflecting on the Divergent and Convergent thinking activities from Tuesday- what did you find challenging? Did you find it easier the more you practiced or working solo vs group? Add photo evidence from the activity.

doing the task as a group makes it alot easier than doing it solo. wokring in a group allowed for us to giove each other critical feedback and help when needed. having another brain can help you see problems that you won't see before

What tools, skills or activities did you find most useful in the redesign your partner’s summer activity?

I find that activities where you get to comunicate and talk to your partner is the most crucial to succeed in this task. Your partner is someone you would interview and piitch your product to at the end. you will also recieve feedback from them. so building that early relationship with each other allowed for more relaxed and less stressful interactions in the future. All of the 5C are very important in this task, as it allows for use to communication and collaborate with each other for a sucessful assignment. my critical and creative thinking were shown during the creation of our video. I had to creatively think of how I can make the video entertaining and full of information and still critically thinking of the correct topic that was chosen by our group member.

In this task, me and my partner worked together to create the ideal target audience for our spin off task. this is a great way to test my critical and creative thinking skills. by working with another person, this also improves my critical and creative thinking skills. this is because thinking quickly and to use both realistic and non realistic solutions would benefit it. this will help out with our spin off task to allowing us to be more aware of our target audience. There were still minor conflicts between our group member, this was due to dissagreements and our difference in beliefs, even I was even part of the conflict. in the future, to make this a more comfortable experience for both my and my peers, I would make up a plan and empathise with those who are talking as we are all different and try my best to dd-escalate any potential fights .

Where did our group do really well in the Spinoff task?

our group got together multiple times to discuss plans and deadlines for when our work should be finished. our communcation and collaboratino skills have improved significantly throughout the task due to this. we divided each other with our own responsibility, ensuring that we all have the same work load. This proactive approach heavily contributed to the overall success of our task.

What improvements would we make if we had the opportunity to do the task again?

there are definitely much more improvements that could be made if I were to redo this task. while our group have made the decisions collectively, thinking more creatively and considering different perspective could have led to a more innovative solution. we have had many conflict situations, where we had argued over possible solutions and what potential problems we are choosing. this has really messed up our 5c's with each at the start of the project, which really hindered our progress early on. Luckily, we have resolved this by appologising to each other. in the future to avoid conflicts like this, I would develope strategies for proactively adressing disagreements or conflicts with my group, this will strengthen the bond of our group group, leading to a more confortable communication and collaboration with each other, resulting to a more sucessful task completion.

What is our current problem that we are focusing on?

Our current focus is on developing a device that can effectively help individuals manage stress and anxiety related to situations beyond their control. We aim to create a product that offers practical tools and strategies to promote emotional resilience and mental well-being.

How is the use of the empathy map evolving our idea? What new ideas or insights have you uncovered from this process?

The empathy map has been invaluable in gaining deeper insights into the user experience. We've identified key pain points such as:

Feelings of helplessness and frustration when faced with uncontrollable situations.

Difficulty in managing negative emotions like anxiety and worry.

Lack of effective coping mechanisms to navigate challenging circumstances.

the planning was proven effective as it allows me and my groupmates to get to know each other as we are working toghether for the next week. this allows us to comfortably communcate with each other and most importantly collbaorate with each other. due to the dicussions of all of our problems, we implement our critical and creative thinking to question, analyse, interpret, evaluate and make a judgement about what we read, hear, say, or write. Thanks to this, we have developes some solutions for our app including:

Interactive exercises and challenges to build resilience and problem-solving skills.

Real-time feedback and progress tracking to motivate and encourage users.

Personalized guidance and support based on individual needs and preferences.

How is our group collaborating? What can I do to improve collaboration within my team? (contribution level- inclusivity, listening to others?)

Our group collaboration has been positive and productive. We've established effective communication channels and are actively sharing ideas and feedback. To further enhance collaboration, consider the following:

Active Listening: Pay full attention to others' perspectives and avoid interrupting.

Inclusive Participation: Encourage everyone to contribute their ideas and opinions.

Constructive Feedback: Offer feedback in a positive and supportive manner.

Open-Mindedness: Be receptive to different viewpoints and willing to compromise.

if all of this was successfully taken in to account that would allwo our group to collaborate and communcate with each other and combine our critical and creative thinking that would allow us to suceed and excell in this task.

What barriers are we currently experiencing?

Some potential barriers we may encounter include:

Technical Challenges: Developing a device that accurately tracks user emotions and provides tailored support.

User Acceptance: Persuading potential users to adopt a new technology for mental health.

Aside from these, we are doing very well.

What are our next steps?

Further develop the device's features and functionalities based on user insights.

Gather feedback from potential users to validate the product's effectiveness.

Create a physical or digital prototype to demonstrate the device's capabilities.

Collaborate with mental health professionals and technology experts to enhance the product.

Identify potential investors or funding sources to support development and marketing.

What Elements of Collaboration were successful?

there werer multiple sucessful elements of collaboration evident through our spin-off task. These includes:

Open Communication: our grorp have had multiple open communication sessions both in class and outside of class via email. these conversations are very honest and constructive, of us communicating with each other our problems in our work while offering solution to help solve it. for example, this one time, in class i dicussed with my gorup member to do homework together at 6pm that night. due to that, it quickly helped us boost our confidence to completet the task,

Respect for Diverse Perspectives and active listening: we are all different, and by respecting each other opinions, we can have a more diverse and satifying solution to our problem.

Shared Commitment: we all share very equal workload, dicussed with each other for our individual parts in class.

What improvements could have been made in terms of Collaboration?

Conflict Resolution Training: The way in which members of the team understood and minimized their disagreements would probably have been more effective if they learnt and put into action different procedures for solving them.

Regular Check-ins: Increased frequency of check-ins might have helped the group in identifying and addressing potential problems promptly.

Diverse Roles: One main aspect we are missing from our collaboratino was to assign task to our group members with task that are more of their strengths from the group. Assigning individual roles by considering the strengths and weaknesses of each team member might have made their group contributions more efficient. this will greatly benefit the the quality as well as the time needed to complete the task as we are all in our specialties.

What Persuasive Techniques did we use? How effective were these? What evidence do I have of this?

Persuasive techniques are reliable since they appeal to logic through providing rational arguments as well as evidence; they appeal to emotion by showing how beneficial their suggestions could be while at the same time; they establish their credibility on the basis of their competence and experience. Our group displays their ability to use such techniques by securing approval for projects, making successful presentations and getting good feedbacks peers and teachers. the example below is an example of ethos. where we used a real life scientist as a trustable source to build credibility. the text bubble saying "The International Energy Agency (IEA) projects that quantum-powered technology could reduce transportation emissions by 40% by 2035" was also one of the logos of the presentation. being able to pursuade viewers with the statistic combined with the credible source of Dr Jennifer Wilcox, a doctor.

The Confident presenters who spoke clearly and maintained eye contact were more persuasive. One of my favourite aspects of other's presentation was their use of humour. Humor can be a powerful tool to break the ice and keep the audience engaged.

What aspects did you see in other groups presentations that were less successful?

Presentation skills

Communication and persuasive techniques used

Some presentations were unclear about the product's core benefits and target market which was a huge turn off as they were not confident in their own product.

Some group had some overreliance on Slides: Reading directly from slides can make the presentation boring and unappealing.

Some of the better presentations had great use of ethos, pathos and logos as well as a clear speaker and great eye contact. they also had great body language, great use of vary tone and volume from their voice and an amazing use of pauses.

What were the really great ideas?

There were multiple great ideas including Obi AI and SunBurn Protector that I personally like. it was very evident the Sun Burn Protector did various research, as they were able to prove all of their claims by providing quotes from famous real life doctors and researchers. They provided a solution to Sun Burn as an alternative from sunscreen, and the backed it up with research to prove that it would be more sucessful. the presentation had clear speakers, great eye contact and a very apealing slide show.

What feedback have you received from staff and students about your own INNOV8 Pitches? This can include self reflection for improvement.

Our initial presentation was a bit lack luster, as we did not speak with great confidence and our research would need more work. Ms Fern gave us some feedback that we shuold make some changes to our product. our initial product was a device, which wouhd cost too much to produce and give too little profit. I believe that when presenting, I made very minimal eye contact, which in the EXPO i whoudl improve at.

Which of the 5C’s do you feel you and your group struggled with the most? Why is this and what could you do differently?

our group definitly struggled the most with critical and creative thinking. where our ideas are not refined as we had a lack of research. all of the downsides during our presentations could siply be avoided and minimised if we were to do more research on our product. In the future, I would research about the cost during the making of our product and seek more feedback on improvements

What improvements, changes and tweaks do you need to make before INNOV8 EXPO on Tuesday 19th November?

Before the INNOV8 EXPO, I would discuss with my gourp mates and decide on new tweaks and changes to our product. We would definitely change from a device to an app on a phone, this would allow us to spend less money to create the product while allowing the customers with a product that is more affordable. I would also practice my eye contact and communication in front of a mirror at home.

Collaboration

Using the Collaboration rubric- identify all of the behaviours (3 columns on the right) that you used in the activity.

Being repectful

Engaging in Partnership

Outcome Greater than Individual parts

Choose one element/behaviour that you felt confident or showed effective Collaboration. What evidence do you have that you engaged in?

Outcome Greater than Individual parts: I actively sought opportunities to collaborate and communicate with my partners. whether it is in person or via email. This is evident in the evenly distributed workload and the mutual support we provided throughout the project.

Choose an element/behaviour that you feel less confident in. How could you become more effective in this element of communication? Discuss one strategy that you could use.

I am less confident in engaging in conversations. despite collaborating well with each other, I am more of a talk less and listen more type of person, where i could not fully express my thoughts. Next time, i would force myself to participate in convesations, as I learn very well from repetition

Citizenship

Using the Citizenship rubric- identify all of the behaviours (3 columns on the right) that you used in the activity.

Belonging to Community

Acting with Independence

Commiting to Purpose

Choose one element/behaviour that you felt confident or showed Citizenship. What evidence do you have that you engaged in?

Committing to Purpose. I remained focused on the team's goals and worked diligently to achieve them. this resulted in the sucessful completion of this task.

Choose an element/behaviour that you feel less confident in. How could you become more effective in this element of communication? Discuss one strategy that you could use.

Acting with integrity. I am not really an upstander adn would alwasy follow and listen to my partner instead of expressing my own ideas. One strategy I would use is to take the innitiative whihle working at my job, as it would give my the experience to get used to doing it in class.

Critical and Creative Thinking

Using the Critical & Creative Thinking rubric- identify all of the behaviours (3 columns on the right) that you used in the activity.

Being Reflective

Being Open Minded

Reasoning and Analysing

Choose one behaviour that you demonstrated in the activity. Explain why you acted in that way for this activity. What factors contributed to you demonstrating this behaviour

Being Open-Minded. I was receptive to different perspectives and willing to consider alternative approaches. I know that not everyone is perfect and try my hardest to repsect everyone's opinion as well as considering them. most of the time I would implement this into my own opinion to make a joined one where veryone would be happy. This allowed us to explore a wider range of solutions and ultimately arrive at a more creative and effective outcome. I did this because I knew that this could bring out the best of abilites from all of our group member, allowing us to recieve a grade of satisfaction.

Communcation

Using the Communication rubric- identify all of the behaviours (3 columns on the right) that you used in the activity.

Being Inclusive

Persenting Information

Seeking and using feedback

Choose one element/behaviour that you felt confident or showed effective communication. What evidence do you have to back this up?

Presenting Information. I effectively communicated my ideas and findings to my team members through clear and concise presentations. Every time I found a new information that is worth checking our, i would paste the website link onto a shared document and check it our together with my group mates. This was shown by the shared knowledge the whole team had.

Choose an element/behaviour that you feel less confident in. How could you become more effective in this element of communication? Discuss one strategy that you could use.

Seeking and Using Feeback. I am very strong when given feedback from someone as I can reflect and act upon it. But I very rarely take the initiative and ask for feedback myslef. Next time, I would ask my groups mates or some friends to give us feedback, either through listen to our presentation or reading through out slides.
