Hutus were known for usually being soil turners. The only difference between the groups was economically, but otherwise, they were partially the same. They used to be determined to be Hutus or Tutsis depending on how close you are to the king. If they are closer they have more cattle and wealth they are a Tutsis. If you don't have much cattle and aren't close to the king you are a Hutu. They had to carry identification cards. In Rwanda, the Hutus were most of the population and killed 1,000s of Tutsis and made many flee to Uganda. In Burundi, a small amount of Tutsis were able to keep charge of the government. They lead with violence against the Hutus. A Tutsis leader took over Uganda and started attacking the Hutus government. I thought this was kinda stupid for them to be fighting because it is more petty fighting like in Romeo and Juliet. I also thought with them being religious I thought they should know that God doesn't want them killing each other and wouldn't because it is against their religion. I learned they basically have social classes and that tended to make you either Tutsis or Hutus. My learning still doesn't make me think the fighting was ok but I understand a little because it's kinda like politics. I don't always love the other party in politics. I enjoyed learning about the Tutsis and Hutus life kinda being compared was the most interesting part.
