The study of endogenous hormone fluctuations in diabetes is crucial due to its potential role in modulating inflammatory pathways and influencing the progression of complications. While diabetes has long been associated with chronic inflammation, the specific impact of oestrogen fluctuations on inflammatory markers such as TNF-α, IL-6, and CRP remains underexplored. This research addresses the scientific gap in understanding how menopause-related hormonal changes exacerbate inflammatory responses, contributing to higher risks of cardiovascular disease and neuropathy in diabetic women. The rationale for using a systematic literature review methodology is based on the need to synthesize existing empirical studies, drawing meaningful connections between hormone regulation and diabetes management. This approach ensures a comprehensive evaluation of current knowledge while identifying potential areas for clinical intervention and personalized treatment strategies for diabetic women at different menopausal stages.
