Herbs were the main medicine and cures of the time, and care performed in the home. Care fell to the woman of the time.</div>]]></description>

There was no training for nurses, the hospital started with three nurses. It often hired former patients to help care for others.&nbsp;<br>A training program for nurses was not established until 1883</div>]]></description>
