This year, I feel like im in it for the long haul." ~ Ann Dee Allen<br>- Nancy Pelosi “They marched, and now they have run for office, and some of them have already won their office. We want women to know their power in so many respects — by showing up not only on the day of the march, but in airports, in town halls.”<br>-unemployment rate for women aged 20 and older has been falling steadily since 2012 vs. Trump saying "Beautiful weather all over our great country, a perfect day for all Women to March... Lowest female unemployment in 18 years!"<br>-Some women avoided the marches on Saturday because they felt they were too focused on electing Democrats, at the expense of other issues. They wanted the movement to be more inclusive of people of color and other marginalized groups.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of the husbands." ~abagail adams<br><br>-15th Amendment = voting rights to citizens regardless of race or color; but women couldnt vote until 1920<br><br>-"The Feminine Mystique" 1963 - Betty Frieden = lol women don't just belong in the kitchen but unless we do something, thats kinda what card has been drawn by the hand of a mainly masculine society. BUT WOMEN ARE JUST AS STRONG AND SMART AS GUYS I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR<br><br>-ERA = Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.<br><br>-some believe that feminism has contributed to the rising divorce rate, to the lowered birth rate, to new family roles for both men and women, and to changes in the way Americans are raising their children<br><br>-divorce rate has been slowly rising since the 60s; women  are gaining confidence, which means they are less likely to put up with an unfulfilling/abusive marriage<br><br>-Women have been breaking the mold that theyve been shoved into for the past 50 years by joining the workforce and becoming some of the main breadwinners<br><br>-There is still a section of America that has been unaffected by feminism. How do most feminists respond? Essentially by saying "if you're comfortable living a 'traditional' homemaker lifestyle, then by all means go for it."</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-An effort 40 years ago to amend the Constitution to guarantee equal rights for women ultimately failed. <strong><br><br>-</strong>In Missouri, several hundred students at a Bible college testified against the amendment before the state legislature, arguing that it would lead to coed dorm rooms and force women to the front lines in war.<br><br>-Women argued without the amendment, women's college degrees would be just "pieces of paper."<br><br>-The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) was passed by Congress in 1972, but ultimately failed to win approval by the 38 states (3/4 of 50) necessary to ratify a constitutional amendment.<br><br>-Abigail Adams urged her to "remember the  ladies".<br><br>-n 1920, women won their decades-long fight to vote with ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. <br><br>-"We are not safe until we have equality guaranteed by the federal constitution," - Alice Paul 1923<br><br>-<figure class="attachment attachment--preview"><img src="https://discoverer.prod.sirs.com/sirscontent/grfx/GIF/4/0000160054.gif" width="488" height="450"><figcaption class="attachment__caption"></figcaption></figure></div>]]></description>
