Muscles are needed for all types of movement, to pump blood, and to protect internal organs. We have over 400 bones in our bodies. One type of muscle is a cardiac muscle, your heart. Another kind of muscle is a skeletal muscle, an example of a skeletal muscle is your biceps. The last type of muscle is a smooth muscle. An example of a smooth muscle is you esophagus. Voluntary muscles are the muscles you can control. Involuntary are the muscles you can't control. From doing the muscle fatigue activity, I learned that your muscles can only do so much before getting too tired. I also learned that when you hold something out for a long time, your muscles start to get tired and the object seems so much heavier. The glycogen breaks down and the build up of lactic acid causes muscle fatigue.
