Not too long ago, the WSU women of distinction exhibit was in the room behind me. I thought that it was interesting, but noticed that a lot of the women recognized were white and there was a lack of equal representation. I heard that there were laws about what bus they could use and even where they could live. The other furniture are kept so pristine, but I often fall to the wayside, the layers of dust building on me each week. Everyone walks past me and I hear of protests for Ukraine, for the BlackLivesMatter movement, and wonder what it must be like to see such injustice and want to fight for it.
