My grandma's house has always
been the house I can go to for a break from reality. Whenever I would go to her house, my cousins and I would find something to do in order to not be bored. A specific memory I have in mind being there was going o the chruch across the street to ride our bikes in the parking lot. The parking lot used to be almost abandoned and was always empty. There was a significant amount of trash laying around, but all we really cared about what riding our bikes down the ramps and having the most fun.

This is the church parking lot my cousins and I would always go to on our bikes. As you can see, we were right across the street, which made it easier for us to go anytime we wanted. When the renovation of the Forum began, we started to see a significant change in the way the church was being handled. There was new parking lot rules and they chnaged the way it looked. Unfortunately, I don;t have a picture of what it looked like before it was redone, but it was more colorful and better for kids to do extracurricular activities in.

Taking walks around my grandmas house mostly gave me a sense of happiness, but also sadness. As I grew older, I started to realize the small issues we had in this community I thought was perfect when I was younger. There is a significant amount of homeless people who camp out right next to the freeway. This is something I believe could be fixed in our community because there is a possibility. Something my community could do in order to fix these issues is build more homeless shelters around the areas that are most populated with homelessness. I did research and realized there isn't enough around the city of Inglewood especially with all this renovation going on around these areas.

With the Forum being renovated into something unimaginable in the city of Inglewood, this has caused lots of gentrification. Many homes are being build in a brand new style mostly because they are being forced to. Homes near the Forum are likely to get taken down to due to the city wanting to build more parking structures or shopping centers. This is harmful to the community because people who spent all their time and effort building their homes and lives with their family will soon be forced to give it all away due to gentrification. This is an issue that needs to be addressed by someone who has control over it. It shouldnt be seen as fair to anyone because there are many people getting kicked out of their homes of many years.
