They made their TP's out of buffalo hide, poles and stakes. They built it into a cone shape so that it would be easier to transport and set up. There food was prairie turnips and potatoes and flavored with wild herbs. Wild berries and fruits were also added to the food available to the Sioux. When animals for food was scarce the tribe ate dried buffalo meat, called pemmican.
