Welcome to the Citizens' Brochure. Here, you will learn all the right ways to become a citizen, study tips, and all of your rights and responsibilities.

Ways to Qualify as a Citizen.

To become a naturalized Citizen, you must at least meet one of these requirements.

Be 18 or older
Be willing to submit your loyalty to the United States
Must have good character
Be able to speak, read, and write in English
Must have Knowledge of U.S. history
You could have also been a Permanent Resident in the U.S. for 5 years. If married to a Native Citizen it must be 3 years.

Citizen Test and Study Tips

There are 100 different questions in the Naturalization test. For your test, the proctors will pick 10 random questions from the full 100. You must answer at least 6 questions correctly in order to pass the test.

Interviews and Sponsors

Countries would like to know more about who they are welcoming in. Everyone who wants to become a naturalized citizen must be interviewed so that we can learn more about your personality, morals and how you are as a person overall. This determines if you are a good citizen and tells us if there are any reasons you should be denied.

In most cases, if you were to have a sponsor they would need to be a US citizen. Your sponsor will be there to help guide you during this process. But, not everyone will receive a sponsor as it is a case by base requirement.

There is also an English portion of the naturalization test where you have to prove that you can read, write, and speak basic English before becoming a Citizen.

Ways you could study for this test is using an app where you can make flashcards of all the questions and study those to your best ability. You should also try to take classes for english training or, if you have access to it, use a mobile app daily to learn.

When becoming a Naturalized Citizen, there are certain rights you gain that you may not have had before. But, with all these rights comes responsibilities.

Once you are considered a Naturalized Citizen, in your new country you will need to be on top of a few responsibilities, Those include...

Obey Laws
Pay Taxes
Serve in Court for Jury Duty
Attend School
Defending the Nation

With those Responsibilities also comes your Rights. Your Rights will be in the states constitution where you'll be residing. Every state has very similar rights in their individual constitutions, but some have different rights. Make sure you familiarize yourself with the rights that apply to you based on where you live.
