This Article on Healthy Eating from CNN talks about many different things going along the lines of being healthy. The article talks about eating healthy, exercise, social habits, sleep and stress. The article is talking about how all these things can affect your health if you don't eat healthy you won't feel good and could have health problems down the road. If you don't exercise you won't have a healthy body and healthy mind. If you don't get out there and be social you won't improve your emotional well being. If you don't get sleep you will be exhausted throughout your day making you not motivated. Lastly if you are stressed your body will get turned into fight or flight. This information is so important and should be taught to elementary student's because they need to know how to keep their bodies healthy and maintain a healthy life from a young age. The teacher can do a lesson on this topic and create activities and readings to go along with it to make sure their students have a lot of exposure to this topic. Teens need to be aware of how to control their body and stay healthy

This article on Physical Activity from NBC News talks about how important every second of physical activity is. The article talks about how every minute of movement counts towards the 150 minute of moderate intensity that everyone is supposed to be getting each week. Studies show that moderate physical activity goes along with lower BMI and lower weight. Every minute of exercise counts towards the main goal. Exercise is so important it makes you feel good afterwards and gets you ready for the day. The information found in this article is very useful in health class for students because they need to know how much exercise they should be doing and how important exercise is. This article could be addressed in the classroom by having the students read it and do a follow up activity. It's very important that teachers know about this topic and have enough knowledge on it so they can share with their students.

This article on preventing alcohol/drug use from the CDC talks about how addictions can happen to anyone. The article talks about how bad drug use is on the brain, when people take drugs the brain is flooded with chemicals that take over the brains reward system. The brain will eventually adapt to the drug because of addiction. Alcohol is the same way it can take over someones body and once your body gets immune to alcohol it can become an addiction and a need for alcohol. This is so important that elementary students learn this at a young age so that they don't get into these habits too early. This can be taught by having the teacher make a presentation about it and the students can do a follow up reading with an activity attached that they can use to look back at as a reference.
