I liked how the lesson provided students an opportunity to start working on their debating skills to have a full class discussion. The topic is informative to the students about teaching them about the past and how an event can have different perspectives. An recommendation for improvement would be to have students be randomly assigned either for or against to allow for equal distribution of students between the two sides of the argument.

I am just confused with the FAME chart because it seems like you are doing it based off their background knowledge. Maybe you could do it on what they learned. Like did they actually take in the information they learned and apply it

It can be hard for students to disagree with an entire class so even if a student thinks differently they may choose to argue the more popular side.
- I would suggest that if this happens that you as the teacher argue the other side to the students.
- If you are not initially going to assign someone a side I wouldn't wait to do it because some student may get upset if you force the to switch and not others.

I really like that you include language and social studies into this lesson!
