No, grades reflect effort.Grades reflect the effort that a student has put into the class. It might be easier for an intelligent person to get good grades, but someone of mediocre intelligence can also get good grades with hard work.

BLUE HAT
Grades measure your performance in school, while intelligence measures your performance in life in general. You might know yourself that in school, you are given the material then tested on it. But in life, you are given the test first. Your challenge in school is to mentally ingest as much knowledge as possible to excel on tests. Your challenge in life is to find the right information, look at big pictures, and take the steps you think are right. Your good grade on a test measures your success in school, while the positive impact on your life resulting from a decision you've made measures your success in life.

  
BLACK HAT 
No not what u think. What if someone cheats on a test a gets a 100 does that mean you're dumb? No, you’re not. I made silly mistakes before and I have gotten a bad grade and that does not mean I am dumb. Some people cheat and get good grades. Those people are not intelligent they just cheater.

RED HAT
There are many factors. Some students suffer from anxiety, major depression, autism spectrum disorders, and other mental illnesses that do not affect one's innate intellectual ability and may inhibit their performance academically. Some struggling with difficult domestic situations, sexual or gender identity, or are simply lazy or unmotivated may perform quite poorly while their intelligence may be high.

WHITE HAT
IQ is used a lot in this argument to say higher grades equal higher IQ but 1:IQ test have been proven to show nothing but a retainment of information and 2: Grades are a determinant of the classes they teach at school never showing full potential for those who study different subjects outside of school which they may accel at compared to a class they dislike and are forced to take in order to gain an education level that their peers will respect while they will realize how useless they are.

GREEN HAT
Parents who are personally involved communicate positively with their children about school matters. They convey that they value school and expect their children to as well. Parent involvement has a greater impact on elementary students than on secondary students.

- Children have no freedom to do things they want. For instance, listen to music when doing revision.
- Low-confidence.
- Children will be dependent on their parents.
- Children will have no motivation to study if parents did not monitor them.
- Children feel pressure and stress.
- Children force to study. This will cause them to be rude or disrespectful to their parents.
- Parents will not listen to their children's idea.

White Hat
- Most of the children dislike their parents to know their study progression.
- Parents give more freedom to children who is more discipline on their study.
- Children secure good grades. If they didn't get good grades, parents give more pressure or they will be punished.

Yellow Hat 
- Build up their discipline. For example, children able to finish their homework themselves.
- Maintain good grades in exam.
- Parents able to know their children's standard.
- Children will be more focus when doing revision.
- Parents able to guide their children when they need.

Green Hat
- Instead of involving in their academic progression, they can involve in terms of studying together and help the children when needed. Parents can attend some talks to understand their responsibility and the pressure faced by their children. So even they involved, they will know when to stop and gives them freedom to do things they want.

Red Hat
Agree
- Parents have the rights to do so. They have to know their child's performance in order to improve their discipline.
- Children can secure good grades in exam. Homework can finish in time.
- Parents hope their children can be successful in future.
Disagree
- Parents give pressure to children. This might lead them to suicide or have depression.
- Children will feel annoying and be rude to parents.
- Children have no freedom. They will be less creative as they can only keep memorising the knowledge
- Children will be dependent to their parents.

Blue Hat
Parents involved in children's study can be good and bad depends on situation.
If children are discipline enough, parents might not involve too much.
