They are also very power intensive and expensive to build. Grey water is a good strategy as it is re-using water from appliances and sinks but it cannot be used for self-cleansing or drinking and is only mainly used in gardens and lawns. Rainwater tanks are good but because of unpredictable rainfall doesn't fill the tank up fully and it is only getting filled in the wet season which is only 3 months. Recycled water is the best strategy as it is taking water that has been used and filtering it and sending it back out to be used. It keeps water from the sewage system/septic system which is a waste. the infrastructure is expensive at start for the pipes but as soon as you build the plant the only thing you need to repair is the mechanical parts and it will give water too many generations to come.
