Formal education is the one that takes place in schools and universities, that is, it is carried out within an organizational structure. The learnings of the students are verified through evaluation instruments such as tests and papers, for example.
Non-formal education is one that occurs outside the formal education system, and is precisely the opposite of formal education.
Informal education occurs outside schools, and learning is involuntary. Here in Portugal there are the Ateliers of free time, which consists of entertaining children with play activities. With these activities, children learn as well.
