Discussion 7
Our course book defines Leadership as the process of directing the behavior of others toward the accomplishment of an objective. Dr. Greg Halpern is a performance improvement consultant with the DoD. He wrote an article in About Leaders called "All Leadership is Situational." He believe that every leader retrieved their leadership style from learning and experiences. He stated "Leadership decision making is based on a continuum, with each end represented by two key sides. Boss-centered leadership is on the left and subordinate-centered leadership is on the right." Boss-centered-leadership are more autocratic which means they make all decisions pertaining to decision making and Subordinate-centered leadership are more democratic which means that the employees have some participation in the decision making process. Read more by clicking here:
https://aboutleaders.com/all-leadership-is-situational/

Discussion 8
What is the difference between power and authority is an article from Extension written by entrepreneur and their communities. The article described Power and Authority as separate but related concepts. Our course book defines power as the extent to which an individual is able to influence others so that they respond to orders. The article defines Power as the possession of authority, control, or influence by which a person influences the actions of others, either by direct authority or by some other, more intangible means. So the word authority, control, or influence all fall under Power. In other words, whatever task that needs to be completed is influenced, controlled or authorized by the power of that individual.
Read more by clicking this link:
http://articles.extension.org/pages/42913/what-is-the-difference-between-power-and-authority-in-an-organization

Discussion 8
Data and information are two different entities but yet they work hand in hand. Our course book defines data as process of developing information begins with gathering some type of facts or statistics and Information is referred to details about a project or the set of conclusions derived from data analysis. In researching information, I read the article, What is the Difference Between Data and Information, written by Martin Doyle posted in Business 2 Community. He said there is a simple way to tell data from information. He stated
"computers need data; humans need information and data is a building block; Information gives meaning and context. In other words, data is raw and lack substance. Data not take shape until processed and turned into ledge able information. Once the processing is complete then it can be used by humans as needed. Read more by clicking here:
http://www.business2community.com/strategy/difference-data-information-0967136#kiyo0VvjGHVWy5ly.97

Discussion 8
Our course book defines Quality as how well a product does what it is intended to do and how closely it satisfies the specification to which it was built. The quality of a product is most often determine by the customer by how it looks, how it works, is it available, and it sustainability. All these things matter in when, where and what a customer purchases. That is why it is important that quality has to be seen as a number 1 priority for management.
