Though, it has its difficulties. I'm interested in multimedia and theatre (especially photography), and PCP has presented a few opportunities to stretch myself in this area. Specifically, I think of using the flashlights in the devising module with Nia and Eian. Though lighting doesn't fall into a theatrical definition of multimedia, I had to think of how to best incorporate it into the piece. I'm excited to continue to work with multimedia in the design workshop as I work on a sculpture with air-dry clay and Polaroid photos. I'm interested in seeing how the photos add to the finished project. Furthermore, this class has equipped me with the skills to explore more areas of creation, like devising and playwriting. I'm excited to use and build up these skills as I grow as a well-rounded artist.

PCP plays an important role in combining my interests in journalism and theatre by equipping me with the art criticism skills to talk about art effectively. One of my dream jobs is being a theatre critic, and I feel so much better discussing art critically because of each module in this course. Another aspiration I have is in documentary theatre. Before taking this class, I knew I had the skills to go get the information to make a documentary play, but now I feel capable of doing something like that (with the writing skills we learned in Pat's workshop), even if it was just a short 15-minute play based on interviews. My reporting, which manifests itself through writing, video and audio, also strengthens my storytelling skills. My journalism classes teach me much about story pacing that translates well to the theatre, and I've enjoyed seeing the crossover of the work I'm doing in my journalism classes and my theatre classes.
