Plus teachers are  always complaining about how much work they have to grade, but they are the ones assigning it. I know that you usually have to assign a certain amount of work, but come on we are just kids. We already had to do a global pandemic, that's not even over yet, and you want to throw virtual school on us and all this work because we didn't have as much time. And then making us wake up really early, and it's all really stressful. School causes a lot of kids anxiety and depression, but then gets mad if we don't complete an assignment. I know that these grades are gonna help us get a job and get into college, but they still don't define who we are. And I don't know about other people, but I get home at like 5 and I still have chores and sometimes help my family with dinner, so the homework is a lot. It's not every teacher though, some teachers give us a week for an assignment and understand that sometimes we're just busy. Sometimes kids aren't even busy anymore they just don't have the motivation because they are scared of the grade they are going to get. Many kids have really bad mental health issues and school really just adds onto that, and I feel like the majority of the authority figures at a school don't really care. I also feel like a test grade isn't actually reflective of "how smart you are" because there are so many different things where you can be "smart." Some people just don't have enough time in the day to get up and get ready for school, be at school for 8 hours, engage in sports and extracurricular activites(for college applications), go home to do chores, do all of the homework that was given, and still get enough sleep to function for the next day. To add on top of all of that, lots of students have mental health issues.
