HOST: Anthony, what would you do today if your friends hadn't asked you in 1983 "hey, come along retro music"?

ANTHONY KIEDIS: Wow, that's a scary movie... I just don't know... I mean it is kind of a scary concept because it's been so fulfilling and joyful                                      to be with my team for all these years, that I can't imagine my life without it.

HOST: Flea, when you look back on those 34 years with The Chili Peppers, what are your feelings right now?

FLEA: At this exact moment... It's funny because I broke up with my girlfriend the other day, and I've been really sad about it, I mean, I                             always have these feelings but you know sometimes when you're going through things it can bring feelings and make them really                         potent, and I just feel so grateful for it, for all the music, and the support and the family and the friends and the connections that we                     have with each other and that we have the opportunity to play this music that is so alive that is just always growing and I feel like we're               giving birth to something new all the time.

HOST: Josh, do you feel you're more settling in now that as an official member?

JOSH KLINGHOFFER: I don't know... It's hard to say that because I mean in certain ways maybe but mostly no. I was pretty comfortable with                                             the guys and being in the band from the get-go. I guess it was just crazy and it was a weird new experience the first                                                time, but because we made this new album with a new producer or someone that all of us we're new to or new to work            with The Chili Peppers, me being the newest member didn't really have anything to do with it.

HOST: How did you achieved your unique sound?

ANTHONY KIEDIS: We didn’t think about it, but we never wanted to sound like anybody else.

HOST: What is the secret of Red Hot Chili Peppers?

FLEA:  We're jamming and that works really well. We don't talk much about songs or how songs should be constructed. We just start to play                   and see what happens, how they develop. We improvise a lot. We find a groove. We experiment and somehow it turns into music. 

CHAD SMITH: We also found out that we work a lot better if we know what we want before we enter the studio. It took us only three weeks to                            record the album.

HOST: What's in the future for Red Hot Chili Peppers?

FLEA: It might sound funny, but I think we've got a very solid foundation, maybe the most solid foundation we ever had. Even Anthony seems               to be far more relaxed and confident.

JOSH KLINGHOFFER: Everything seems possible. It's a great feeling.
