- I really got into the story when it's found out that Zed's been drugging Amy and taking nude pictures of her sleeping on the beach. It brought up the tension and made me scared for Amy. It's always been implied Zed was a pervert but I'm glad the author didn't show the fact immediately when he was introduced
- At first I thought Beaky would be unimportant to the story, a person to keep the story focused on Amy and Zed. Although I wasn't surprised when she became one of the most important characters.
-The important message is to never trust people you meet online. This is showed when Amy gets drugged and stripped by Zed, someone she once thought was handsome and perfect, who was nice and had a good job. It was obvious Zed was going to be the person pulling the story's message through, but I assumed it would be the cliche "grab in a white van and bring her back to her house, but he showed trust in Amy, only to back-stab her, to drug her when she least expects it.

- I wonder why Zed wasn't introduced as a creepy middle-aged pervert in the beginning, as in later in the book Amy describes him as "horrendous looking" and how his teeth look horrible and his hair is disgusting. It shows how much Amy stuck up for Zed when they first met.
- I can tell where the subplot for Bethany and Lou stepped in, their friendship wasn't exactly clear in the beginning, Amy immediately despised them in the beginning, they seemed to be a pushing force for Amy to meet Zed, as Amy wouldn't join the chat room without Bethany and Lou abandoning her.
- It's possible that Amy could've prevented this by being more cautious when meeting Zed. Instead of Amy being sure he wasn't trying to drug Amy (but he inevitably did), she could've avoided it by not ignoring the advise her parents gave Amy. Amy could've brought her own food or came along with a friend that time, but she did with Beaky the second time eventually to sabotage Zed and to search for that birthmark, but she still could've prevented Zed from drugging her in the beginning. But, Zed drugging Amy and stripping her pushed Amy to realize who Zed really is, and to push Amy to expose him for what Zed was aiming to do to Amy.

- I feel as if the "Date Rape Drug" introduced around the end of the story was something to get the plot running. It was revealed that Zed has put a DRD inside of the moose he gave Amy, drugging her to go unconscious. I feel the author used this as a lazy way to push the plot, it just so happens Beaky has been reading about the DRD in a magazine. This generally disappointed me, this lazy plot device of Beaky coincidentally reading about it in a magazine instead of Amy realizing that the moose she ate tasted off, and asking about it to Beaky, which would've been a much better plot device.
- The way the character nicknamed "Sexylegs" was introduced was particularly poor, she appeared out of nowhere and had zero character. And the way she was revealed to be Zed felt pointless.
- Zed's character seemed overall confusing, Zed was generally "honest" with Amy in the beginning, but mostly in the end he was a jerk.

1. The main character in the story is Amy. Amy could be described as gullible, a lone wolf, and dull. Amy fell for Zed, Zed tricking her in order to get pictures of her. She has little to no friends, her only friend being Beaky. She's generally anxious about Zed and her parents.
2. One of the most important secondary characters is Zed. Zed's true personality wasn't revealed, he fabricated one online, making him seem like a perfect person, 18, working at an office job, well-off. But he's revealed to be a creep, someone who only wants pictures of Amy, nothing else but a pedophile. Another important character is Beaky. Beaky was the bullied character, generally bullied for her big nose and greasy hair, but she was revealed to be intelligent and caring once Amy got to know her.
3. The conflict is Zed, Zed lured Amy into the sand dunes and took sexual pictures of her.
4. Amy had visions of her being nude and being taken pictures of, seeing Zed with a camera, shirtless, and a huge birthmark on his back, even though she was unconscious at the time. Beaky and Amy come up with a plan to get him shirtless and see if he had the birthmark, if he did, he's a pedophile.
5. I liked how the plot is easy to understand, I could pick it up at any time and know where I was.
6. I didn't like the ending. It's revealed that Zed was a pedophile, owned multiple pictures of child pornography, and was arrested. It's told that Amy was emotionally scared and went home. Then it ended. I wanted to see what happened next. What happened to Zed? Did Amy ever recover?

Adventure Book Character Claim Post #2 due BOP 4/5

Current page #: 67
Character Name: Sunni
Claim: In the beginning of the book, she's jealous of Blaise for getting more praise than her.
Evidence/Data:
1. "out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Sunni frowning"
2. "Art means more to me than anything, I love to draw...I know I don't draw all the time like Blaise does...He's special that way. But it doesn't mean I'm not good at it."
3. "Sunni was tempted to burst and tell him what she thought of that, but something held her back."
Warrant: These quotes show how Sunni is extremely jealous of Blaise, and wants the same praise that Blaise gets. The first quote takes place while they're taking the tour, as Throgmorton is extremely interested in Blaise's sketchbook, Sunni feels as if she's invisible. Sunni feels as if she isn't talented, she regrets not bringing her sketchbook at this time. When Sunni says "Art means more to me than anything, I love to draw...I know I don't draw all the time like Blaise does...He's special that way. But it doesn't mean I'm not good at it," Sunni needs to clarify to Throgmorton why she feels underappreciated, like a laughing stock to him. Throgmorton has completely ignored Sunni up to that point, never acknowledged Sunni's love for art, and was generally more focused on Blaise. In this scene: "Sunni was tempted to burst and tell him what she thought of that, but something held her back." Blaise and Throgmorton are about to leave to the academy without Sunni, and Sunni has her breaking point. Sunni's mad at Throgmorton because she feels ignored.

1. Alosa, the daughter of the pirate king, is a brute. She kills half of the opposing crew, however she has a sense of humor, quotes like "It means your men haven't had a whorehouse in a while" when she was asked if she knows what it means since she's the only woman on the ship. Also she has a soft spot for some of the others on her crew, on page 10 she quotes "Not Mandsy. Not Mandsy. She's one of mine. I can't let her die" when one of her crew members is in danger.
11. So far (I haven't read much of the book) it's pretty good. It's action-packed, full of adventure and intensity. The characters are full of depth, the story is interesting, it's descriptive, and the setting is really creative. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an amazing adventure book
