The morning section was an RtI specialist from the State Department who gave us a nice presentation on what RtI looks like in the school setting. I showed a non-example video first: "It's Not About the Nail" to make the point that we need to have open minds to what others might suggest. Then I showed the video "Story of Panyee FC," the soccer team from Thailand that worked together to do something that seemed impossible.  After both videos, the teachers, who were seated in grade level groups, made lists about what makes collaboration successful. Share outs from the groups followed. After some discussion, the teachers were then given a task and asked to collaborate together to implement RtI into the task.

This was the case in this PD! I need to publish my plan so everyone can see, then I would be more tied to sticking with the plan. Also, giving the teachers very specific roles to role play in their collaboration practice may have been a good idea to help them see other perspectives; like have one be the antagonist through the process, or one be the dominant speaker that never gives others a chance to speak, etc.....
