Children can learn from the Beaver story how to be brave and take risks. They can also learn the reason why the land looks the way that it does. For example, they learn why the river is tortuous, yet straight in some areas. They also can learn why some pine trees are scattered, and some are more densely populated. This oral tradition allows for children to understand more about their homeland and culture.

Children can learn from the "How Beaver Stole Fire From the pines" from why the trees are in different places or spread out because according to the text "Beaver to the coal and started running away and the pines chased the Beaver and the pines got tired and stopped chasing the beaver". This proves that the pine trees today are mixed up with willows and many other trees in Idaho. Children also can learn from this story because these pines used their coal to make fire. This also proves that today you can use coal to start a fire like many different animals and trees did when humans were not a thing. In conclusion children can learn from this story in many different ways.

Children can learn from the story "How Beaver Stole Fire From The Pines" by learning why many pine trees are scattered along the river bank of the Grande Rhonde River. The reason the pine trees were scattered is because when the pines chased Beaver and when the pines got too tired they rooted where ever they stopped. To this day that is why pines are scattered all over the place. Children can also learn that rivers were shaped the way Beaver ran through the forest to try to get the Fire from the pines. That is why too this day some rivers are windy and some rivers are straight!

Children can learn from the beaver story about how to be brave and do things for others. First beaver seizes a piece of coal and ran, but instead of being greedy and keeping it for himself, he had no hesitation and gave it to a bunch of other trees. You might be wondering why he didn't give it to the freezing animals, but he gave it to the trees because trees can make fire because they are flammable ad they can make fire for the other animals. But beaver still got chased because the pines were so greedy and selfish so the old cedar chased him, but then he got tired out and the old cedar tree is still standing there today. The children can learn from this story to be brave and take risks for others just like the beaver because he could have ended his life for good.

This tells us how beaver made all of the rivers look like what they do now. This story will help the children learn about their culture and their homeland and how it was made to be like how it is .

Children can learn from "How Beaver Stole Fire from the Pines" by seeing why Cedar sits at the top of the hill alone, or why Pines are scattered. One more thing they could learn is about taking risks for people, since the animals could freeze to death in winter beaver took a risk and took a piece of coal from the Pines. Children can also learn why the river is tortuous and straight because beaver was zigzagging and changing directions but also staying straight too. I can prove Pines are scattered because in the story when the pines got tired chasing beaver they took root wherever they stopped. Also when Cedar stopped chasing beaver it took root at the top of the hill. Overall, this is what I learned from this story.

In coyote and the monster coyote was brave and fearless to fight the monster and save all the animals that were inside his stomach, and that is why some animals look the way they do. In the story ''How beaver stole fire from the pines'' beaver took risks and believed he could get fire from the pines. They would also know why there were pine trees that were close together and far apart next to the river. And they will never forget the cedar tree that was at the top of the hill. Not just the beaver story showed brave and courageous actions but so did coyote. coyote was the character that saved everyone from the big monster that was eating the animals. the kids can learn what the animals looked like and how they acted like. they can also learn how to be a brave and courageous person.

This is because this tree and this tree alone went to the top of that hill to get a better look for beaver. One more thing is why trees are flamabul Childen can learn from "Coyote and the monster" because it also teaches them how to be brave and stand up for others. Overall, you can learn so much from a short story.

People can learn from "How Beaver Stole Fire From the Pines" because it teaches how Beaver would take risks to help others plus how and why parts of the land look the way they do, like why pines are scattered but also can be close to each other, and why the river is tortuous in so me areas but straight in others. The story "Coyote and the Monster" can also teach others how to take risks, but to save lives instead. The story also teaches people how and why things look the way they do. A grizzly bears nose is flat because Coyote punched its nose, a rattlesnake's head is flat because Coyote stepped on it. And a muskrat's tail has no fur because it got pulled out when Coyote pulled him out of the monsters tail. This story is how the Nimiipuu thought they were made. These stories can really help others in every day life!

Kids can learn from the "coyote and the monster" to be brave and courageous because in the story the coyote wanted to put an end to the monster that was swallowing all the animals and plants. The coyote tied a rope around him and threw it on top of the mountain and started to tease the monster singing songs, saying "you can't get me I have more strength" and saying stuff like that. Then the coyote tricked the monster into swallowing him, then in his stomach there was sick animals, dead animals, and coyote was saying gather all the bones from the dead animals. "When he takes his last breath kick the bones and follow the bones out", then the coyote wanted to cut the heart, then the rattle snake was tired of coyote bossing him around so the coyote stomped on his head, then the bear got tired of coyote bossing him around too so the coyote punched the bear in the nose, then he got to the heart and used his knifes to cut it open then the animals got out then he squeezed the heart and then the Nez Perce appeared.

The coyote place the heart from the defeated monster on the Nez Perce homeland, and the Nez Perce used it as a great heart or a figurative heart. The story "Coyote and the Monster" also can teach children by showing when the coyote punched the grizzly bear in the nose the grizzly bears have flat noses to this day and coyote stomped on the snakes head and that's why snakes head are flat to this day.

What children can learn is to not be greedy like beaver and to share your recoursces and to have a big heart. When you have these traits you will enjoy life more. I think the coyote and the monster also shows that when you are brave things may be good not bad. Another thing Nez Perce children can learn is that To be selfless and to take a risk may lead a better path for life. In conclusion , this is what Nez Perce children can learn about their culture.

Kids can learn from "coyote and the monster" to be brave and courageous because in the text coyote wanted to save the animals and he tied him self to a rope and when the monster took a big breath coyote cut the rope and got inhaled by the monster. Coyote then started to build a fire so he could see and then he started to walk to the monsters heart but rattlesnake started to hiss at him and coyote stumped on his head and that is why rattlesnakes head is flat. Then he began to walk to the heart again then grizzle bear growled at coyote and he punched him in the face and that is why grizzle bear has a flat nose. Then coyote started to cut at the heart with his knife that he made from natural resources and the heart fell off. The monster took its last breath. Coyote is very selfless.

And they can also learn how to use their natural resources. And children can learn about their homeland in the past. They also could learn why the grizzly bears nose is flat. And the can learn that the beaver stole their Cole and the pines started chasing him but they eventually stopped chasing beaver. And this could teach the kids not to be greety or selfish and to be brave and selfless.

Kids can learn from "Coyote and the Monster" is that it's their creation story, and that Coyote is their god. Coyote is heroic, brave, smart, and courageous. Animals to this day were the same back then, because Coyote stomped on Rattle Snake's head, that's why snake heads are flat. Coyote also punched Grizzly bear in the nose, so that means that bear noses are flat as well, and Muskrats tail don't have fur on their tail, because that Muskrat's fur was ripped off when Muskrat was under the monster, so that's why kids can learn about this. Kids can also learn from "How Beaver Stole Fire From The Pines" that Pines can make fire, because of Beaver. Beaver was also Brave, Smart, and Courageous, but he's not just that, he's also SELFLESS, because he puts others first, than himself. He helped the animals that were freezing to death that needed fire to survive the cold winter. Now let's talk about the Pines. It's a type of tree that belongs in a forest, and they wouldn't share the fire with the other animals, and that's when Beaver came up with a plan. The Pine tree guarded the fire jealously, because they wanted the fire all to themselves, but Beaver was not having it. Beaver ran away from the Pines, and the Pines were chasing Beaver, but Beaver got away, and the Pines were tired , so they stopped chasing him, and they were scattered around, looking like a forest. That's how the trees are like this today. Beaver was the hero!
