Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) states that successful community partnerships in HCPS are driven by a collaborative relationship between two parties who work to achieve common goals. 1. All partnerships must be documented on the Partnership Agreement Form, which should be completed by the school and the partner, and then submitted to the HCPS Department of Communications and Public Relations at Central Office. Each party should define the terms of the partnership agreement by specifying: The products or services to be provided. The purpose of the partnership. The place in which the activities will be performed. NOTE: Principals have the authority to determine which partnerships best suit the needs of their school HCPS (nd.). To help make FTWW within possible we had the help of parents, students, two community churches, and community grocery stores (Food Lion, Walmart & Sams Club) to donate clothing and non-perishable food items to the program.

Schools, parents, and the community should work together to promote the health, well being, and learning of all students. When schools actively involve parents and engage community resources they are able to respond more effectively to the health-related needs of students.

Family and community involvements foster partnerships among schools, family and community groups, and individuals. These partnerships result in sharing and maximizing resources. And they help children and youth develop healthy behaviors and promote healthy families. Additionally, linking community activities to the classroom: Improves school-related behaviors, positively impacts academic achievement and reduces school suspension rates (New Hampshire Department of Education, nd.).
The goal for this program was to provide nourishment to our needed students so that they would be able to function academically. Students are able to stay more focused in class without having stomach aches and headaches. Due to the partnership we have established within the community, we have to do very little work in regards to getting the supplies for the students. We are in constant contact with are partners and they provide clothing and non-perishable food items on a constant basis.
