Italy's version of Cinderella begins by a young girl named Cinderella who begged her father to marry the governess, who had 6 daughters. The governess started to treat Cinderella horribly and made her do chores all day. She wore rags and dirty clothes all the time. Instead of the name Cinderella, she was now named Cenerentola. Cinderellas father was going to Sardina to deal with goverment matters and asked his 7 daughters what they would like upon his return. All his daughters asked for dresses, Jewlery, and money. Cinderella asked him for one thing. She asked if he commends her to the Dove of the Fairies, and bid her send her something. She told him to not forget of the simple task he asked of her or he would not be able to stir backwards or forward. Her father went to Sardina and bought all the daughters gifts but his own daughter. He could not return home untill he had finally did what she had asked. When he returned home and Cinderella recieved the gift, she was embraced with magic. The Young king had a huge feast and invited everyone in town. Cinderella wanted to go but her evil step-mother denied. The gift she had recieved allowed Cinderella to attend and look the most beautiful in the Castle. The young King wanted to know who she was but was not sure where she had gone after the Feast. The King hoped to see her at another feast but she had always dissapeared. As she was running awya from him, her glass slipper fell off and he soon picked it up. He called for all the women in the country to attend his ball to see who the glass slipper fits. All the women came except for Cinderella because her step mother forbid her too. Once the Young king realized that there was a young girl still at home, he forced her father to bring her. As she walked into the castle and tried on the shoe, he realized that she was the one he had been looking for.

Comparing the two Cinderella Stories, both stories explain the same concept but have different ideas. The first comparsion between the stories are the sisters. In the original Cinderella story, Cinderella only has two step sisters, who bully her and tries to steal her future husband. They aren't as mean as her step mother but they are said to be mean to Cinderella throughout the story. In Italy's Cinderella story, she has six step sisters. The step sisters don't seem to care for Cinderella in the story they are only brought up in the beginning.

The second comparsion is the fathers involvement. In the Original Cinderella story, the father is not a huge part of the story. Her step mother was more involved in her life, making her feel bad about herself constantly. In Italys version of Cinderella, her father is involved in the story and makes her feel bad about herself. He says "she is always on the hearth, and is such a graceless simpleton that she is unworthy to sit and eat at your table". He also forgets about her and buys all his step daughters gifts except his biological daughter. Another comparsion is in the Original Cinderella, the king decides to hold a festival to look for a wife, he was searching for a wife in the story. In Italy's version, the king was at a ball which many people went too, as he was there he saw cinderella and thought she was beautiful and decided that he was going to marry her.

Both stories are very similar and tell the overall message of Cinderella. Both stories include an evil stepmother who does not allow Cinderella to go out. The step mother makes her do chores and makes her wear dirty clothes. Another comparison in the stories include the mothers death. The mothers death in both stories created the idea of Cinderella, as she feels alone and lost, she cries to her mother to guide her and give her strength. Even though the mother isn't there physically, Cinderella feels her presence in both stories which gives her the strength to disobey her stepmother and go out to the ball. Another comparison is the prince falling in love with Cinderella. In both stories, the prince falls in love with Cinderella the second he sees her at the ball. He knew he loved her when he saw her.

"Cenerentola" was the name of Italys version of Cinderella. In Italys culture, the man of the house tends to leave for work for a long time while the mom stays at home with the children. In the Cinderella story, her father left to Sardina for goverment and work puropses while her step mother was mentally abusing her back at home. When the young king asked for all the women in the country to his palace, many of the women were experiencing poverty as there were not many upper class people due to high unemployment rates. The king was suspicious of Cinderella and belived it wasn't her since she was dressed poorly, but had on a beautiful dress on at the ball. This shows how the upper class viewed the lower classes and Italy's upper class standards.

Overall, the Cinderella story starts with a young girl who is mistreated her whole life but finally gets the chance to leave her family. The moral of the story is that kindness goes a long way, as Cinderella stayed true to herelf and was kind, she was able to surpass her struggles and live a happily ever after.
