I felt like the flanger sound effect on the second half of the track was a little loud and I could've made that sound wider to give it an ambient feel. I used Fl Studio took my ideas back home and worked on the melodies. My idea for the song was to set a melancholic mood. Different to the previous upbeat songs. And how I improved it was i added an extra guitar pluck however later on in the process i decide to remove the plucks and use some vocal acapellas and put a Love Philter over it.

What gave me the inspiration to make this particular afrobeat was uk artists such as B Young, Steel Banglez, Mostacks and Jhus. 
I've noticed that there's so much similarities in all uk afrobeats when it comes to the instruments.

What I had in mind when I heard the title was 'Secrets', I had to record whispers add phaser and flanger some panning here n there to really embody the title of the song. What I liked about the whole process was that me and the artist were on the same wavelength and we both agreed on a catchy chorus that everyone would sing to. I also wanted to bring something different to the table by adding a verse of my own, most of my peers were rapping over their beat however I realised there was not a female rapping over a beat in the class which made mine stand out.

Overall as the weeks went by I have gained a lot more knowledge to take on for my next EP.
For Example
  • Learning to not overdoing and use too much plugins (e.g. Multipressor, Boosting too much frequencies but cutting it)
  • What really gave my EP that RnB sound ( Making my synth saw bass legato, cutting the high frequencies on my plucks)
  • Learning how to use the Match Eq and analysing a commercial song with songs from an EP.
