It is also used to raise the waters' boiling point for it not to easily evaporate, and caramelize the sugars.


It may be a solid crystal, but it is composed of covalent bonds. It is made of not one—but three nonmetal elements of Carbon, Hydrogen, and Oxygen. With its low boiling and melting point and nonpolar nature, it has cemented itself as a covalent compount.
