         <description><![CDATA[<div>Rebecca Nurse was a 71 year old grandmother and wife of a local artisan when she was accused of witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials. Nurse was also the sister of accused witches, Mary Easty and Sarah Cloyce, and the daughter of suspected witch Joanna Blessing Towne. Born in Yarmouth, England in 1621 to William Towne and Joanna Blessing. Rebecca Nurse arrested on March 24, 1692 came as completed surprise to the citizen of Salem because she was considered such a pious and upstanding citizen.  She was accused of killing Sarah good kids that's why she was going to get hung.</div>]]></description>

At the end, Abigail ended up stealing all of his money and ran away from Salem. By the end of the play, Reverend Parris is thoroughly exposed as the sniveling parasite that he is. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>          Elizabeth Proctor was the wife of John Proctor, and was accused of being a witch after Abigail Williams and Mercy Lewis claimed that her spirit visited and tormented them. Elizabeth was then arrested, and was also supposed to be hanged soon after her arrest. However, her execution was delayed when the court found out she was pregnant.&nbsp;<br>          Her husband, John Proctor, was hanged on August 19th, and the following January, Elizabeth Proctor gave birth to a boy, who she named after her late husband. However, Elizabeth was not immediately executed after the birth for unknown reasons, and was actually released from prison once the witch accusations died down due to lack of evidence.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> </div><div>In April, due to overcrowding in the Salem jail, Elizabeth Proctor was transferred to the jail in Boston, along with <a href="http://historyofmassachusetts.org/the-trial-of-rebecca-nurse/">Rebecca Nurse</a>, <a href="http://historyofmassachusetts.org/martha-corey/">Martha Corey</a>, Dorothy (Dorcas) Good and Sarah Cloyce.</div><div>The following month, three of the Proctor’s children, William, Benjamin and Sarah were also accused and arrested, as was Elizabeth Proctor’s sister, Mary Bassett DeRich, and her sister-in-law Sarah Bassett. <br> On January 27, 1693, Elizabeth Proctor gave birth to a boy and named him John Proctor III, after his father. Although she had given birth, Elizabeth was not immediately executed, for reasons unknown. <br> In May of that same year, after the witch hysteria had died down and most of the prisoners had been released due to a lack of evidence, Governor Phipps released the remaining prisoners, which included Elizabeth Proctor. <br><br></div>]]></description>

No actual evidence of the crime was ever presented during the trial and one of the young accusers was even caught in a lie when she claimed Good’s spirit stabbed her with a knife, according to an article in The New England magazine&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
