As covid-19 breakout changed the lives of hundreds of millions of people, cultural discrimination problem has gotten worsened than ever. It was really impressive that POC are suffering mental illness because of racism. As a global citizen, I've been deeply concerned with racism issue such as BLM. I realized how important it is to care and respect other cultures.

As the quality of life has stabilized, mental health is more being valued compared to physical health. How you think and imagine inevitably affect your way of life. However, these days, those who have distinct features in their appearance are subject to discrimination and crime. People Of Colors in USA are one of such. From the project, I could think of not only the measures to care mental health of POCs but also how to pay attention to various people in the world.

I remember reading an article saying that the overall quality of life of mankind is increasing, but the suicide rate is increasing in common. In this video, I was impressed that COVID-19 and racism and exclusion were greatly related to suicide rates. Most people of color in the United States are structurally and socially headwinded. It is sad but natural that that point continues psychologically. I hope that racism and social exclusion will be reduced.

I was impressed about connecting discrimination against POC and mental health. In the american society there still exists bias against the colour and I know that is a serious problem. Moreover, the covid 19 has deepened it as isolation period got longer. However, I want to ask is there any casual relationship between the race and mental illness despite its correlation. Plus, criticisms about the anti-hate movements such as the exaggeration of the harm the colour had suffered from the white, I think, are another problem we have to think about. Anyway, the most important is not using the right issues of the minority to strengthen politicians' political power but to encourage their own human dignity.

This video really stood out to me because I’ve recently read the book, “The Hate U Give”. It was a novel related to ‘Black Lives Matter’, and in the book, the protagonist goes through a lot of emotional suffering because of the death of her friend. He was innocent, yet, the police killed him just because they were afraid of him for no reason.

People of color are less likely to seek care for mental health concerns, but our society is not giving enough attention to these people. More people should be interested in this issue, and find a creative way to increase mental health among POCs. I really liked the ways that you suggested in the video to implement change, especially the part about youth-led activities. Usually, people tend to think that experts and teachers are the ones who should do the job, but in fact, peer-interaction might be the best solution to this.

Mental health problems are occurring in many social minorities. However, the United States does not offer any special help for mental or physical problems. In a situation where many kinds of social minorities are discriminated against due to prejudice and false values, US do not provide a corresponding medical alternative toward poc. The U.S. medical system is deepening the problem of medical blind spots amid various contradictions, including racism, under the private medical insurance system. Health insurance is closely related to the right to life and is a right that anyone should be guaranteed. I don't think the COVID-19 pandemic will be the end. It seems that alternatives to the mental problems of social minorities, which will be severe due to various social problems that will arise in the future, need to be systematized as soon as possible.

Racism has become a very big problem socially and globally, and it is still a problem that has not been reduced in size. Judging a person's color, it puts increasing pressure on minority groups or individuals subject to discrimination and causes them to suffer mentally. It was very good that this video and explanation told the ultimate way to improve mental health. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of people who feel mentally alienated has increased exponentially and decreased, but it is still high. There has been more extreme violence using retaliation and weapons, and incidents such as racism and anti-Asian retaliation have now become familiar. In fact, I do not fully understand the social structure, but governments, businesses, and individuals must all strive to achieve equality

Suicide being the 2nd leading cause of death between POCs, and the enormous increase of anxiety and depression in POC due to covid-19 is a crisis we all need to take a look at. Though there were a variety of solutions suggested, eventually the fundamental solution to all discriminations must be spreading awareness and improving the social perception of POCs. The systemic racism in healthcare is unacceptable and policies must be made to demolish this. Regarding the fact that a lot of mental stress disorders and trauma comes from racism, even mental health is inaccessible due to systemic racism was really raging for me.

People are becoming mentally fragile and falls in mental diseases.

Mental disease is not particular person's problem. But it was unbeliveable that the races divide the mental healthcare qualities. After since the slavery in america, mental stigma to african-americans were not removed until now, even if the US undergone the civil righs era. The ptsd of upper generation passed down to the descendants, and this erupted mental illnesses after covid.

I think the contents of the video is not just related to USA, but also related to our nation. In Korea, many people are suffering mental problems too. And since we even have bad perceptions of mental hospital and disease, it is hard to get a proper cure. What is different between Korea and the US? Both are similar, and I think that we should have an open mind and the govenrment shall help more people with mental illness.

It is clear that individual mental health and individuality have become one of the most important factors that we have as members of society. However, as mentioned in the presentation, problems such as depression and racism caused by the COVID-19 incident are threatening individual mental health. I want to talk about the presentation of this team about things we can do to protect our mental health on our own. First of all, it is necessary to come up with a plan to sufficiently relieve academic stress. In particular, students in our school need to prepare for many evaluations, so appropriate rest will also be needed. Secondly, we should not have discriminatory thinking. In particular, we should take the 'disgusting expressions' that are widespread on the Internet critically and should not have prejudices about race, religion, and education.

Racism and the issue of "POC" is one of the biggest topics in worldwide socity, which remains unsovled for decades. The presenters mainly stated the necessity of mental care in covid19 era, and emphasized the need for the care that are specifically not given to 'POC', People Of Colors. The statistics represent that most Asians, African Americans, and Latinos are not given sufficient medical supports, particularly in psychological area. Related to the recent issue 'BLACK LIVES MATTER', a civil-rights movement that are continuously done in overall society, I could contemplate the practical solution for 'Racism' and the institutional efforts to support POC. It was fascinating for the team to emphasize the need for support in POC area, and the real direction for the de facto equality.

In addition, I learned that people of color are currently living with more anxiety than white people, and that there is also discrimination, not discrimination, against people of color who do not receive proper health care after the COVID-19 pandemic. It seems true that many people still have a prejudice against people of color, and that people of color are living a hard life accordingly. So the government also agreed that medical support, medical facilities for people of color, and youth should fight against prejudice and improve their prejudice against people of color. With this opportunity, I hope more people will be aware of the current situation and act accurately.

In the presentation, the speaker made an arguement that certain minortiy groups (Africans, Asians, Latinos, Indigious, etc) are more vulnerable to mental illness compared to White Americans, due to the discriminations in treating the people. They listed some of the factors that negatively impact the mental health of minority groups as: Ongoing discrimination, social disorder, hate crimes, racial prejudice, etc.) I think that how minorities are more vulnerable against mental illness is just one example of racial inequalities in America. I believe that gaps between races in economics and social status should be resolved in order to fully ensure the rights of minority groups.

To address this, we can conduct activities such as nonviolent protests and campaigns. However, in order to solve a more fundamental problem, the state and education authorities need to be aware of the problem and take effective measures. We must check the movement to use it politically in this process. In addition, reverse discrimination should not occur. This is because there are cases of anti-racism protesters opening luxury brand stores and marts, or problems of discriminating against or reverse discriminating against each other among people of colour.

In this presentation, various causes, such as racism between people of color and the police brutallity, are causing mental health. During the pandemic, as depression and anxiety phenomenon is increasing, mental health is rapidly worsen. Previously, there was economic inequality between Poc and white people and there was a lack of various treatment institutions. However access to treatment is becoming more difficult due to COVID-19.
In addition, unlike Korea, the United States tended to ignore Poc’s mental health and do not provide a proper system. Therefore, it is necessary to combat an appropriate system as soon as possible. For examples, efforts should be made to provide appropriate education and to establish proper policies to treat mental health among POC in u.s.a. And I think that knowing the differences in dealing with mental health in POC and white communities and preventing prejudice and discrimination alone will make progress in society.

However, I was deeply shocked by the fact that they are not fairly treated even though they actually have mental issues or illnesses. In particular, I think it is necessary to improve the discriminatory treatment in the treatment environment, which have become harder to access after COVID-19. We have to eradicate racism that prevails in the world currently, in order to wipe out these issues. In that regard, I think it is a good solution to provide education on mental risks at the school level or to pay attention to students' minds to prevent mental illnesses. Also, it is very important to let the world know our thoughts, and we should not be thinking that our will and hopes would not spread around the world.

Recently, an incident took advantage of the confusion of the protests to open a store occurred. In order to solve such a problem, the state and education authorities must recognize the fundamental cause of the problem and take effective and appropriate measures

The fact that minorities are vulnerable to social problems is true, but still so sad. Since most of the Koreans are in the same race, these problem is scarce here. However, since the world is being globalized, this problem should be considered worldwide. the hate and racist ideas that lie inside people should be eliminated, and I believe these should be obtained from proper education starting from young age. I enjoyed watching your video. Thank you!

Usually, I was very interested in mental health problems such as Corona Blue caused by Corona. Due to the corona, racism has gotten worse all over the world, and I have heard a lot of news about racism. However, I learned anew through this announcement that there are differences in mental health issues depending on race, and I think discrimination against minorities should be strongly regulated. To this end, education or social movements that eliminate prejudice, which is the fundamental reason for discrimination, should be conducted.

I was able to watch the video interestingly because it seems to be the right topic for the current situation. Through this video, I learned that the word POC. And I also learned that mental health can change according to POCs. It was amazing that the POC, which seems to be completely unrelated, was linked to mental health, and I hope that regulations for more suffering minorities will be in place soon.

I read a few articles about the hate crime increasing on POC after COVID-19 spread around the world. I also know that there were campaigns such as the 'Black Lives Matter' and 'Stop Asian Hate' against those hate crimes and the global issue of race discrimination has rose to the surface again. This presentation got me to think deeply about the effects of COVID -19 and the race discrimination on POC, which lead to the lack of mental/health care provided for them. I think this issue should be the breakthrough to solve the problem the international society faced these last few decades-race discrimination. Race discrimination is the cause of the hate crimes on the blacks, and the blame on Asians for COVID-19, and the mental health issues on POC. The world should use many sources such as international organizations and laws, or diplomacy between countries to solve this problem. To me, this was an impressive presentation that gave me a lot to think about and motivated me to make the world a better place.

In addition, there are more patients with COVID-19 who suffer from depression due to COVID-19.

I've known that there has been a massive increase in mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression by the COVID-19 pandemic. But I didn't think that these kinds of mental health disorders could be serious. It was great that this team made me think about this problem one more time and be serious.
Also, it was sad that Asians received 60% less mental health treatment than whites. It is definitely right to receive treatment if you are having a hard time and are sick, but it was a part that made me think again that it might reflect the reality that it is difficult to visit a psychiatric hospital easily due to different cultures and perspectives.
I wondered what POC would mean, but it was unfamiliar that it meant People of Color. I heard about 'racism', but I felt a little ashamed that I had never heard of POC. I thought that I should try to find what I can do with a more global sense of citizenship and solve the problem fundamentally.

The team's data was impressive because they seemed to point out that there are problems such as discrimination in any social issue. I didn't know exactly what the POC was, but it was a good opportunity to think about how to prevent problems such as hate crimes caused by racism. And finally, this team came up with a solution, but I was a little embarrassed because I thought it was really necessary but not protected by social problems. It's not something you can do with a lot of power or money, but it's helpful to look around, but I felt like I was a little careless, and I thought I should think more deeply about the various measures that this team suggested and put them into practice.

The most shocking thing is racism. It should not be concluded that COVID-19 has spread around the world due to racial problems. But the negative view is broadened. I thought mental care programs should be made properly for those who would have been depressed by these problems. I hope that no one will be mentally or physically sick due to COVID-19.
