Lowering demand of in-class work and difficulty would not only give struggling students more time to catch up, it would also allow all students to cater more time to different ways and places of learning, such as school-organized groups, family bonding, free time with friends, and independent learning and hobbies. 

Additionally, Providing more challenging content is only what happens on the teachers' side. Students would have to accept the materials as a positive challenge before additional learning starts.
