• Each RBC 250million haemoglobin
• Lifespan 3 to 4 months
• Formed in bone marrow
• Contains hemoglobin (a protein) that carries oxygen
• Mature RBC lack of Nuclei and Mitochondria
• Worn out RBCs are broken down & recycled in liver
• Iron removed from dead RBC is send back to the bone marrow to produce new RBC

• Transport oxygen from lungs to body tissues
