What theme/big idea is being conveyed by Cisneros?  How does the use of literary devices help convey the theme? : The theme in this vignette as believed by my guild is identity, the literary devices in this line support the theme by showing a metaphor. The metaphor shows the boys infatuation with her and it shows her identity because she looks straight at them and isn’t scared, she shows bravery and doesn’t waver.
