I think we should start the skit with a video

of ALL of us dancing and singing to ABC

by jackson 5 in my classroom. Then move

into a skit where we poke fun at the Principal

(no cell phones, gold star, etc) Then move into an

outline of the day making each stop and character bigger

and better than we remember.

I thought of Education Day as a way of learning what our Educators face in challenges.

While singing and dancing is not my strong suit, I want to go to a comedy skit.

Spin the Challenges that our educators face into some really funny solutions. We introduce

an in your face issue- like arming teachers, principals and janitors with guns. Have them use it to

fix other problems like behavior issues, drugs in school, even cheating on a test. The answer to all the the problems are arming our teachers!!

Perhaps we can come up with a spin on NRA and education abbrievations.

After our Jackson 5 intro.......(or Hot For Teacher.....which would be AWESOME!) 1) we can do a game show, like a Dating game, where the contestants are a couple with kids looking to move into a county and the "dates" are Gwinnett, Fulton, and DeKalb. The questions can be centered around the benefits of Gwinnett compared to the other two, and the challenges we face and what we can do to address, making Gwinnett the winner of course. We could make this hilarious. 2) we can do a "Day in the Life" of a principal, and have the principal address issues that demonstrate the impact of education as he goes thru the day. We could be students, parents, administrators, the Governor issuing some edict that the schools have to run, teachers having a teacher meeting, etc. again, we could have a lot of fun with this. One of us could play George and we could have him arguing with the Governor. 3) this could be a school board meeting, with part of the group being on the board and the other part being various parents coming in to address issues, another way to address a lot of topics at once.

I wonder if there is a way that we can include the audience as participants or take their suggestions like improv.

I think we should set up a classroom like setting. All students with 1-2 teachers at a time. The teacher/s can be educating outline the main points we learned on education day. Throughout the
skit we can weave in funny things that happened that day (george, the clothespin teacher) and throughout the year (Ron burgundy,
etc.). We can also use the skit to actively highlight the issues that teachers and educators described to us as challenges. Some of us will dress like students today, some like teachers, some like the speakers). We can incorporate alot into it... and be real funny

I like all the skit ideas.

I don't sorry- get kinda offended with it...schools are for education not guns
