I think it is because some teenagers may not have learnt about sexual reproduction and are thus curious about it and may have sexual intercourse.I also think that it may be because of peer pressure from their friends to do so.Since they are teenagaers, they are going through puberty so hormones also make them want to have sexual intercourse.

there isn’t a lot of context regarding the exact specific reasons why her boyfriend wanted her to terminate her pregancy, so he could either have actual financial problems with supporting both miss june and their child, or just simply be an irresponsible boyfriend not ready to face the expectations and responsibilities of being a parent. honestly if it were the former i wouldn’t blame him, but i still feel like he should stay by miss june’s side to help her cope with the shame and guilt that they both must have felt instead of breaking up with her due to the abortion. even if he could not support them financially he should have been there for her emotionally !! i feel like he could have been doing what he felt was best for them, but he could have been more responsible in handling it. just because he wasn’t the one with the baby does NOT mean that he could just leave miss june to handle the stress and guilt and grief all by herself >:(

I think that Ms June’s boyfriend did not handle the situation well enough. Even though it could be because he were still not mentally ready, and resulted in trying to escape from the situation, I think that he could have handled the situation better. It is understandable that he thinks he is not ready to be a Father in his early twenties, and if they gave birth to the child they may not have the ability to raise a child, both mentally and financially. Despite all these, I think that even if he wanted to call for an abortion, he should not just plead Ms June for an abortion then ended their relationship so due to the stress. After all, it should be her decision to make and not entirely the father’s. Even if he isn’t the one being pregnant, he was partly the cause of it. I also feel that its not entirely wrong to call for an abortion if the young parents did not have the capabilities to raise a child but Ms June’s boyfriend still shouldn’t leave her right after they agreed on the abortion, but stay by her side as she was going through an even more difficult time. I think that his actions of ending the relationship right after the abortion was done, which probably meant the whole issue was settled to him, was insensitive and selfish. Even if he may regret having sexual intercourse with Ms June and wants to put an end to all this, he should have stayed by Ms June’s side, instead of abandoning her and leaving her on her own to face the guilt of killing a life inside her.

I feel like the first rule is both good and bad, as although minors should be given the rights to their own child and have a choice, they might not know if they can handle it. The parents, having gone through raising a child, might understand better and help make a better decision for the minor. However, I understand that the decision should be made mainly by the minors, as it is after all their child.
I think that the second rule is understandable, as ample time is still given to the mother to decide on whether she wants to have an abortion. Moreover, a 24-week-old baby might be more difficult and costly to go through abortion, and after 6 months there will also inevitably be a connection formed between the mother and the foetus.

Actually I don’t think parental consent should be needed as really, pregnancy is going to affect the pregnant much, much more than parents, and things like faith will come in with some parents. Even if the person is a minor, if you are going to say they’re not mature enough for a decision but then they’re DEFINITELY not mature enough to be a mother. Also notifying the parent should be required for those under 21 just so the parents can know about it and be aware, so they can monitor the child closer. but if they are above 21 they are old enough. Let them decide whether to tell the parent.
