She was up and sipped coffee while deep in a book. I would wake up and sit next to her on the couch and read whatever I had at the ripe age of five.

I thought I'd be reading the secrets of the world, however, when I opened book, I realized I couldn't get through a paragraph without losing my understanding. 

I read a paragraph a day and took notes on the side of the page, however, I lost interest as time went on because his writings were still being lost on me. I realized I need to work hard to understand such a complex piece, and that it would take a while. I want to read more of Arthur C Clarke's work, and other particular authors relating to him, such as Micheal Crichton and Issac Asimov.
