To hit lower lead times and still remain price competitive is the tough call now. It is tough for manufactures to remain sustainable and having long lasting relationship.
3. Changing Customer-As shoppers turn to the internet for information and shopping for price comparisons, and to social media for opinions, the industry's response becomes more service- and price-sensitive.
4.Inventory Level- Customer preferences change faster, which speeds up inventory turnover requirements. Suppliers then must adjust to smaller orders placed by retailers and wholesalers, and improve turnaround times. This puts pressure on their raw material, transportation, quality control and labor costs
5.Product Sourcing-The ability of other countries, such as Bangladesh, to handle the production being moved from higher-cost China can affect critical delivery schedules.

5 CHALLENGES OF WORLDWIDE TEXTILE INDUSTRY :

1. A professional or a team of professionals with updated knowledge in terms of production costs in each country, the specialization of each productive region, the cost of materials and production times in each area are essential for the company to create value in its supply chain and to stand out from the competition. This is where competitive advantages are born.

2. Logistisc support. Timely movement of materials, parts and the finished product is the major part of logistics. the basic goal is to achieve maximum cost-effectiveness while maintaining service requirements. International logistics generally cover longer distance than domestic logistics. the longer the ditsnce, the longer the lead time, which requires more inventories and creates more opportunities for things to go wrong.

3. Cultural differences. Culture is an integrated system of learned behavioral patterns that distinguish the characteristics of members if any society. Values, attitudes, manners, customs, religion and language are the components of culture. Differences in these factors can cause miscommunication and create further problems in global sourcing.

4. Regulations. Several government regulations influence global sourcing directly and indirectly and often make it complicated. The most directly influential trade regulations and tariffs and quotas.

5. Security. Many developing countries identified for low cost global sourcing are subject to political uncertainty or even internal political. that risk needs to be assessed in terms of whether your offshore will be ablle to provide the products successfully.

5 challenges of worldwide sourcing in textile industries.

1. Logistics in global sourcing refers to plenty of additional problems such as transportation delays, border-crossing procedures and longer inventory management. Lack of holistic logistics knowledge in low-cost developing countries would trouble the procurement executives when implementing global sourcing. Low-grade infrastructure of logistics in developing countries influences the efficiency of global sourcing.

2. Language barriers always threaten cultural communication and even technology transfer in global sourcing. Although many suppliers from developing countries have technical staff and sales people with English skill, difficulties still arise when they need to interact with Western experts to discuss professional technical issues.

3. Local and regional economic environment can be a primary risk factor for global sourcing. Due to the cheap-labor and other factors, developing countries may be experiencing uncertain economic situation.

4. In global sourcing, the money has to be moved between domestic countries and foreign partners. Stability of currency enables the international trade to be easier while instability makes it more complex and introduces risk.

5. Due to the various phases of industrialization in different countries, industrial standards vary among different countries in the world. Therefore, evaluating the situations and clarifying the differences are highly important and necessary before the companies share designs with their suppliers who may use different technical standards. In addition to the different standards, the special regulations promulgated by governments also influence global sourcing directly and indirectly and often make it complicated.

Describe 5 challenges of worldwide sourcing in textile industry.

1. The lack of research & development (R&D) in cotton sector. Its happened because of low profitability in cotton crops. Therefore, not many of them use cotton crops as the main income. So, it becomes difficulties to make appropriate R&D to develop the textile industry

2. Lack of modernize equipment. Old fashion of technology makes cost of productions higher and unable to produce the product right on time and in large quantity. Ineffective production will make it difficult to compete with the international textile industry.

3. Increasing cost of production. High interest rate of raw materials and maintenance will increase the cost of production. High cost production will minimize the opportunity for textile industry to compete in international market.

4. Lack of investment. The textile industry needs a high investment to produce effective production. One of the factors in the shortage of investors in the textile industry is that long-term returns. Meanwhile the cost of raw material and equipment is also expensive to produce the textile product.

5. Raw material prices. The main problem is the cotton price increases. It happens when the requirement of raw material resources are limited. In this situation, suppliers take an opportunity to increase their income. So the raw material prices are rising at high prices.

Q: Describe 5 challenges of worldwide sourcing in textile industry

1. Consumer choice and demographic variability

- Consumers of recent times are becoming more selective, multidimensional and complex due to increased awareness and readily available information on the products and designs. However, a manufacturer cannot directly transfer consumers’ choice and preferences in different product styles to satisfy their needs.

2. Challenges related to supply chain

-.The major aspect of the supply chain is responsible sourcing, which takes into account factors such as sustainability, compliance, chemical safety and product safety. In modern clothing manufacture, the emphasis on quality is increasing and more intelligence and agility in the supply chain is expected.

3. Challenges in design and production

- Manufacturers have to handle an extraordinary amount of design changes. Traditionally, the apparel manufacturing process has been performed by production workers who perform the cutting, sewing and other operations in an assembly line. One of the major global concerns in apparel production is rising labour cost.

4. Stiff competition

- An apparel competitor sells similar clothing items to the same market segment, consumers or store types. Merchandisers perform comparison shopping to analyze the price, quality and service of their competitors.

5. Environmental or Ecological challenges

- The demand is shifting to develop eco-friendly products from materials derived from sources other than petroleum, which is a limited resource

Describe 5 challenges of worldwide sourcing in textile industry

1. Countertrade requirements - A special form of international trade refers to all international and domestic trade where buyer and seller have at least a partial exchange of goods for goods or involve partial payment to a firm in cash.

2. Budget - The budget did address a few gaps of the textile industry through revision of taxation, infrastructure improvement and relaxation of relevant policies directly affecting the industry. The budget also saw the import duty elastane printed fabrics, cotton & metallic yarn dyed blended fabrics, cotton & spandex, metallic blended fabrics, cotton & silk lining fabric reduced to zero provided these articles are imported to manufacture garments for exports.

3.provide support to the omnichannel mode- focus on improving the speed of our supply chain and to add suppliers who can manage the largest possible amount of processes so that the product shipped from origin arrives to destination ready in all its variations.

4. Fabric waste -The wastage, not only clogs 126 million cubic yards of landfill space, releases dyes and chemicals which leach into the soil and contaminate surface and groundwater, but the decomposing fabric also releases methane, which contributes significantly to global warming. While 70% of the operational cost for any garment manufacturer is the cost of fabric, at least 5-10% of fabric purchased is wasted as most manufacturers buy incorrect amount of fabric

5. lack of discerning consumers- They seek variety at low cost and would not mind small manufacturing defects and colour changes, which decreases the wastage from manufacturer's viewpoint.

1. Currency Risk: due to currency prices fluctuation.
2.Increase Lead time requirement due to location distance.
3. Cultural Understanding: such as religion, attitudes, customs, etc.
4.Language and Communication Differences: message speed and level of content.
5. Legal Issues: Legal systems differ country to country.

Describe 5 challenges of worldwide sourcing in textile industry.

1. Total cost incurred
- Some countries such as India and China have a lower labor cost resulting in a lower labor cost but the hidden cost behind it is greater than the actual cost. Cost of reprocessing the material, cost of surveying/visiting the place and cost of returning the defects.

2. Currency Barriers
- Every country have their own currency rate where it changes constantly depends on the economical performance of the country. This phenomena will make the trade process to be unstable and hard for the company to estimate their sourcing costs.

3. Culture Differences
- Global sourcing between difference countries may causes problem as they have to really adapt with different culture and working environment apply for each countries. Miscommunication, conflict and issues related to manner and respect may happen because of two parties does not understand their different culture and practices.

4. Government Policies
- Each country have different government policies where there is some rules and regulation to be followed by the company. Tariffs and quotas limitation will causes the procurement part of the company to spent some time, efforts and money to allow this sourcing to happen.

5. Time different
- For example, countries such as Germany and Malaysia have a different time frame where the time different is almost 6 hours. This will resulting in delay of time or clash of holiday time that force the material to be be delayed for a few days.

Describe 5 challenges sourcing in textile industry

1.Consumer choice and demographic variability - Apparel manufacturer have to produce a diverse product mix as consumers are difficult to understand and predict.

2.Challenges related to supply chain - A complete garment is fabricated from various components. For example, a man’s casual shirt consists of cotton or polyester/cotton fabric, different trims and accessories like as nonwoven interlining, woven or printed care labels, polyester embroidered brand labels, buttons or snap fasteners and sewing thread .
3.Challenges in design and production - the apparel manufacturers have to handle an extraordinary amount of design changes.
4.Stiff competition- Apparel manufacturers and retailers always state that apparel manufacturing is highly competitive. An apparel competitor sells similar clothing items to the same market segment, consumers or store types. The globalization and post-MFA conditions have accentuated the competition. Merchandisers perform comparison shopping to analyze the price, quality and service of their competitors.

5. environmental or Ecologiical challenges- One of the biggest challenges in the world for the entire economy is sustainable development. The unsustainability of the production, as mentioned, is a relevant problem for all industries, but the textile industry overall has its unique place within the whole matter. The Apparel industry pollutes the environment in significant amounts of natural resource usage.

Q: Describe 5 challenges of worldwide sourcing in textile industry.

A:
1. Shipping costs- Depending on certain places if the distance of their warehouse and the locations of the buyer are near then the shipping costs might not cost high but if the locations of the buyer is far then the shipping cots are undoubtedly high.

2. Assuring sustainability of the fabrics- sometimes, creating a secure, long-term system that addresses social, environmental and buying best practices will probably cost you more and hard to keep up for outside country compared to local.

3. The currency exchange rate in global sourcing are fluctuated- The international trade will be easier if the currency are stables but in this case it is highly unlikely to have no currency changes and while its happen, the instability are making complexity in trading and introduces risk.

4. Meeting customer demand- the are various factors that effects the customer taste in fabrics such as fashion update, seasonal changes and the endurance rate of the fabric which might effect while shipping the fabric.

5. Delays- to receive the product on-time, it is vital to have firm completion date and time-frames. yet delays can cost various of drawbacks such as the schedule completion of the fabrics will be changing that can drive new costs which can turn into new risk.

1. Cultural understanding. Different country would have different customs and tradition. One should learn it first before dealing with that particular country.

2. Language and communication differences. Each country have their own language and way of communications. The language differences would make it difficult when dealing with the supplier.

3. Logistical issues. Some countries might have the best product that one's needed but have a difficulty when delivering the product to the customers. Some countries still have this issues.

4. Currency risk. When dealing with other countries, the exchange-rate risk would be higher.

5. Increase of lead time. This is due to the distance from one's country to another

1.Preserving the quality of the product. If the raw materials are defective, whole production lines can be ineffective and the defect rates for the finished products can increase.
2. The quantity and costs are balanced. There is always a MOQ for the procurement of textiles and trims, which affects costs directly. To produce the fabric economically, each fabric supplier needs a certain MOQ, otherwise production costs are higher if their production is under MOQ. In general, costs will be higher if a supplier or factory places the raw material order below MOQ.
3. Level of inventory. Fashion supplies present and future. The cost reduction will be achieved through future robotic technology used for production and logistics. 5.Location of manufacture. The cost of materials and production times in every sector is essential to enhance and stand out from the competition value of the company in its supply chain. Competitive advantages come from this.
