I think that people violate commandment #9 the most because a lot of times people post before they think when writing or uploading something. They just feel the need to most it in the moment instead of thinking of any consequences that can occur from the post. Sometimes it is not until after posting it, we realize it is not appropriate and by then it is too late. Once something is out there, it is out there forever. I feel as though people tend to forget that and don't realize the measures one post can do for the rest of your life. I see this happen a lot with snapchat. They think that can post whatever because only their friends will see it but that picture or video is out in the web forever.

I believe these violations occur because people simply do not think before acting in the moment. They see other people doing it so they think nothing of it and do it as well. They are being followers instead of taking a step back and realizing, this may be a negative thing to put out in the world. Once you see other people posting everything about their life, it intrigues you to do the same but people have to realize to be above that because not everything is truly worth sharing.

There can be a few things that you think to yourself before positing unethical things. One of the questions you can ask yourself is, "What will my parents think about this?" Another one could be "What will my future employer(s) think about this post?" "Would I show or share this with my grandparents" or "What if my coach/teacher/professor/ mentor saw this, would they think it is okay?" If any of these answers make you question what you are posting, then you probably should not be posting it. To eliminate this kind of behavior, we must think before actually posting. Take 3 seconds before you post to make sure that it is ethical and that you are okay with anybody in the world seeing it.
