Hello everyone,

Happy to meet you!

My name is Pauline van Norel and I am one of your trainers in this course. To answer the questions:

1. I am a trainer, facilitator and coach, focusing on human skills and personal and team development.
2. Learning for me is about the 'kindling of a flame', to inspire people to do things differently. I love my job in that sense; to see people grow, understand and get confident in trying out new behaviour.
3. I always learn a lot from participants, about their work and personalities, it broadens my horizon and understanding of the world.
4. I am the the first one, so no answer yet to a former question, but I can also answer my own question (nr 5). My favourite book is from Ken Follet, "The Pillars of the Earth"
5. I would like to know from the next person: What is your favourite book?

Providing trainings or refresher sessions is part of my role.

2) Learning for me is about exploring additional options for implementing my ideas.

3) In this course I want to deepen my understanding of how to keep the balance between the learning objectives and not to come across as being a boring trainer. Cultural aspects, and online engagement are also very interesting!

4) I’ve attended many courses, and some were boring. I’d like to be a facilitator who uses interactive and engaging methods because, often, our target group attends these trainings out of obligation, not choice. I want to turn that experience into an enjoyable and valuable one.

5) From the next person I like to know what was your last holiday destination, and what was the most remarkable moment for you (it might be food, place, person, or your expirience)?

Hi everyone, it's my pleasure to meet you all and join you during this interesting course!

1) My name is Bram and I work as an evaluation consultant at MDF T&C

2) In my work, I am fortunate enough to learn and enquire a great variety of ideas that aim to advance important goals. Being a curious person, I am very lucky to be in a role that allows / requires me to learn every day.

3) When we communicate, especially with the goal of learning, the communicator aims to influence how the receiver behaves. Good communication invokes the mental imagery that can alter perception - a cornerstone of learning which paves the way for taking action.

4) For this reason, I want to become a better communicator. Although I find pleasure in communication one on one, I can find it difficult to speak to an audience of 5 and more. I hope this course can help me to prepare myself better when speaking for a group, and to radiate the energy that makes people comfortable, calm and interested at the same time.

5) If I could be anywhere in the world right now, I would be in by vegetable garden, making a greenhouse so that in the future I can grow and eat my own veggies all year round :)

6) What's the thing you do in your free time that allows you to completely live in the moment?

And working with MDF already for quite some time, enjoying to support others in their learning while learning myself too..

3) For me learning is about discovering new things, both delights and sad things - which goes on forever.. Everyday brings something new to learn. And if we make an extra or intentional effort for learning, it will be more than just one something. There are times I'm full of energy and eager to learn anything I come across, while there are also moments that I'm content to just chew on older learnings and reflect on them a bit more. There is a time for everything, I guess, also for learning. :-)

4) I hope to learn from your sharing. I already talked to some of you and I notice my learning has started - thank you! Really looking forward to know more from you and to share with you whatever I can offer you.

5) I love to arrange the plants and flowers on our big balcony, clean it from all the acorns falling on it from a huge acorn tree next to our building. With the view on a huge community garden. Then I loose track of time and I just enjoy the beauty of nature.

6) Who has taught you a very important lesson in your life? And which lesson?

This is because in my essence, I enjoy singing and vibrant colors, everywhere. I work as a marketing and communications specialist. My favorite part of my job is being creative and bringing this colorful spirit to it.

2- "I'm well into being a walking transmuting thing

Rather than clinging on to old concepts on everything" - Raul Seixas

Learning is an eternal process because things change constantly. If you don't consider other perspectives or keep concepts that don't make sense, you limit your learning potential. The quote from this Brazilian song reflects how I see a learning processes. Having the opportunity to evolve on the learning path can be a game changer, a positive change, for a better world to everyone.

3 - I feel like I would like to be surprised a bit. There are times when we come with one expectation of learning, but find something that is more in line with what we really need... So, I am ready to embrace the course. I am also interested in learning from my colleagues from different areas and backgrounds.

4 - My former manager, Carina Rossoni, was the first person that taught me how to be a teacher (I used to be a teacher too) that would really engage my students in learning. She was very practical in helping me plan my classes and deal with difficult situations in the classroom when things got complicated.

5- Where do you come from and what do you feel most proud of about your culture?
