The building of the Continental Railroad was motivated in part to bind California to the Union during the Civil War . The route followed the Oregon, Mormon, and California trails. The new line began in Omaha, Nebraska, followed the plate river, crossed the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming and then through northern Utah and Nevada before crossing the Sierras to Sacramento, California. A new track was laid to connect Denver, Colorado and Salt Lake, Utah.

The meeting point was in an area known as Promontory Summit, north of Salt Lake City, Utah. Before the railroad the journey was very dangerous and six months long crossing rivers deserts and mountains. By railroad it is not exposed to deadly diseases and saved a lot of lives. Most white men received between $1- $3 a day, but workers from China received less and were supervised by the white. In 1853, 5 years after we captured California the US made the Gadsden purchase from Mexico, which acquired the Southern Part of what is now Arizona and New Mexico.

Some strange sites you selected; there are some better options to use. Quite a few misspellings and errors. One box just has a completion date. At no point do you define what it is.
