The Haitian Revolution was a rejection of France. It was also European racism and colonialism. Haiti was the second free and independent nation state in the Americas. It had one of the most successful slave revolts, ever. Overall a lot of records were made, without this revolution we wouldn't be where we are today with peoples rights. I've learned a huge amount of information about this revolution and about the state of Haiti today. Of course over the last years a few tragedies struck. But, everyone fought through it. The people of this revolution stood up for the fact that no one should be slaves, the people that need protection from the government, no matter what race or gender, should be allowed that protection. They stood up for people, while the rest of the world was too afraid.
