Children will be introduced to prayer apart from petitionary prayer. We will model for them how to pray to overcome temptation and to pray to obey God for when we don't really want to.

Each Server will show this picture - Can anyone change these stones into bread? What can you do to change into bread? Why would you do that? Is it a good thing? When is it a good idea for bread to be available? We will focus on Matthew 4:1-4 and overcoming the physical desire and need for food. Present Esau as an example and the horrors that come from lack of self control.

Object Lesson - Mortar & Pestle / Garlic Press

Examine the grape. What is its shape? Is there any juice from it? Can you taste it? What happens after it goes into the Mortar bowl / Garlic press? How is it different from before? How is Jesus like this crushed grape? How are we crushed when we say no to ourselves and yes to obeying God or our parents? Is it a good or bad thing to be crushed?
