They attended the same school and often played basketball after school on the playground. It was a Wednesday around 3:10 pm. and the boys had been bickering at each other all day about who could hit more free-throws out of ten. The boys were eager to settle the issue in a friendly competition. Charlie hit 8 out of 10 shots. Bill had hit 8/9 and had to hit one more to beat Charlie. He squared up to take his last shot and in doing so crossed the free throw line while releasing the shot. It was nothing but net! He screamed and ran all over the playground rubbing his victory in Bill's face. Charlie knew the shot shouldn't have counted since he clearly crossed the line. The next day at school he had told everyone how he had won the free throw contest and was better than Charlie. When Charlie walked into the cafeteria everyone laughed out loud at him and screamed "LOSER"! He was hurt that his friend had done this. What would be your move if the situation continued to escalate?

By back up is to just walk away. Then to ignore him.
