The past 2 decades the Amazon rain forest has been cut down by 20%.  The people that owns the lands are in fear of their land being stolen, intimidation to give it up, or even fraudulent titles to take the land.  Many people are taking a stand and hiring gunmen to protect their properties.  The native people are torn between modern things and protecting the rain forest.
