This isolated gein from seeing other people and making relationships. Even after his mothers and brothers deaths he continued to live on the family farm house in isolation.

He lost his brother at a young age from a fire. Just a year later he lost his mother. Having two deaths within a year could definitely ruin a person emotionally, it ruined ed gein. His mother always taught him that the world was evil and after her death he started learning about the Nazi medical experiments. Later on when police interrogated him and asked him questions he said that he would go to the graveyard to look for women that looked like his mother. This shows the obsession that he had with his mother since she’s the only woman he’s really ever talked to. He also told police that he wanted to create a woman suit so he can become like his mother. That shows that he was really attached to his mother .

the early influences that shaped Ed Gein's notorious legacy, particularly his childhood experiences. It highlights the impact of his mother, Augusta Gein, whose strict religious beliefs fostered a worldview that viewed society as corrupt and women as sinful. This led to the family's isolation in Plainfield, significantly affecting Ed's development and creating an unhealthy loyalty to her. The post also discusses Ed's social isolation and bullying during school, which contributed to his psychological issues and odd behaviors. The tragic death of his brother, Henry, marked a turning point, deepening Ed's isolation as he lived alone with Augusta and intensifying his psychological decline. In summary, the post illustrates how Ed Gein's childhood, influenced by his mother, social isolation, and family tragedy, foreshadowed his descent into darkness, emphasizing the critical role of early influences in shaping behavior.

Amani H

Ed Gein originally stayed in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and has always been under the influence of his religious mother Augusta. His mother has always believed their own town in La Crosse was full of evil and sin, calling it a “sinkhole of filth” and decided to move Ed Gein and his brother Henry just outside of Plainfield. Close by the town was a farm house his mother bought to raise the family in. Since Ed Geins father was an alcoholic he became strictly obsessed and close to his mother, feeling tensions form between him and Henry who argued with his mother often. Since the farm was so isolated, Ed Gein only ever went to town for school, making him easily a victim of bullying. Gein felt so close to the farm house that he kept it in adulthood and even organized all the rooms his mother stayed in after her passing, killing all his victims in the rooms that were open, including his brother during early childhood in the farms open field, making Henry his first suspected victim.

His mom taught him and his brother about religion and he followed what his mom said about women. He created a “women suite” with women skin that he would wear so he can be like his mom. His interest in women really stemmed from the way his mom talked about women. He never tried to talk to any other woman other than his mom. But with school he was constantly bullied and an outcast leading him to not make any significant connections with others. This led him to have a opsession with his mother and mostly likely led him to kill his older brother. When his mother died it left an impression on him causing him to want to be her.

Ed Geins father was an alcoholic with little to none self worth, and his mother was very religious and sin and evil everywhere. His mother was very verbally abusive, and made sure that him and his brother knew they were worthless. The only time that they would let out of her sight was to go to school and she made it very prominent that they weren’t allowed to have friends, this led to Ed being bullied and beat during school. She also taught the boys that all women were evil and lustfull, which made their perspective, see her as the only good woman and to idolize her. His brother died and his death is still unsolved with out Ed being questioned. All of these little things add up to the understanding and the red flags of why Ed is the person we know today.

Biographics. “Ed Gein The Real Leather-Face” YouTube 29 Apr 2019

Ed Gein at a young age was forced to believe that the world held many sins and was forced to avoid most of the outside world. He was naturally not very social because of this, even in school he was known as a quiet kid who did what he was told. As a teenager, he got a job for babysitting so he could make some money and support his mother with the home following the incident, but when left alone for too long with the kids, Ed Geins mind would begin to wonder and start to experimenting on what exactly he could convince thee kids to take.

Biographics “Ed Gein: the real life leather face”

https://www.youtube.com/c/biographics?sub_confirmation=1

Posted 6 years Ago, April 29

Ed Gein was born on August 27, 1906, in Wisconsin, and grew up with his older brother Henry. His father, George, was an alcoholic who struggled to keep work, while his mother, Augusta, was extremely religious and very strict. She taught her sons that women and alcohol were evil, and she kept them isolated on a farm in Plainfield, away from the outside world. Ed only left the farm to attend school, where he was quiet, strange, and often bullied for a growth on his eye. Despite Augusta’s harshness, Ed adored her and saw her as the most important person in his life. At home, she gave daily religious lessons, reading dark passages from the Bible and warning about sin. This strict, lonely, and isolated childhood left Ed with almost no social skills and a deep dependence on his mother.

Plum, Ashley, Plum, Ricky hosts.
