Yes! Vision is what we want our world to look like, ideally. Mission is how we acheive the vision. Values is how we accomplish the work and guide us in this.

Just thinking about endorsing campaigns, or deciding what approach or strategy to take to a problem, we need values to guide us. Sometimes we tend to think we all have the same values, but that's not true and causes miscommunication. If we can simply point to our values, agreed upon and written down, then that will save time and promote efficiency.

I understand the vision statement to be a long-term goal, something to work towards and that is aspirational and inspirational. Supported by this would be a mission statement, which provides a brief outline and pithy approach to the vision statement.
Yes I think it is relevant. I believe it would help if we had a common language. As in any organization or culture there needs to be a common language to have a greater understanding to work together. Having the guide and common language will bring us closer together. Although I believe in homelessness our vision alters as policy changes and cultural views change. I think we have values and principles but I believe we aren't always accountable to them.
