- There some higher end to everything that is better than all the other ends
- The hierarchy cannot go on forever, there is some highest end

2) A mans function is action of rational thought, and how well he does that action
3) Therefore, human good is the following of the action of rational thought from the soul. 

He isn't defining good or evil actions... he is defining quality of those actions

Ex. The function of a lyre player is to play the lyre. The function of a good lyre player is to play the lyre well.
