Emily- One of MANY lollipop moments this year (I could fill this page with all the lollipop moments I have had over these past three weeks)

As Many of you know, there were many bumps in the road at the beginning of the school year with the various schedules. After sending out a number of emails about changes, I was feeling like I was never going to be able to meet the demands of equality with recess and lunch duties. After I sent one of the emails addressing possible changes, I received an email back from Rachel AR saying that she would take as many recess duties as possible if that would help.

Although I knew that she cannot do this, her kind words in this moment made me feel like everything was going to be alright and that I am supported by a fantastic team at Stall Brook. Thank you Rachel, I am not sure you knew how much these kinds words in this moment meant to me. #lollipop #Support #Gratitude

So, I just watched this Ted Talk & wow, this speaker is on to something! At StallBrook, we are such a tight community of passionate, professionals who wear our hearts on our sleeves, creating “lollipop” moments all day long! We are a family that comes together every day to make things the best they can be. Take this summer for example, when we were all blindsided by the news that Brenda had left us. Most of us were stunned and felt let down to say the least! But seeing how others had stepped right up into new positions (Emily, Kim) to keep us rolling was an inspiration for all of us to come together and do the same! We are all leaders, yet we don’t give ourslves the authoritative credit as we deserve! It’s time to step up SB & recognize the powerful impact that “lollipop moments” can have on each other’s lives! Take the time to share impactful “lollipop moments” with those who have created them! One of my favorites sayings is “Little things mean a lot!” :)

Thank to Erin and David, both of whom have jumped right into the crazy adventure that comes with their new positions. Go, behavior support team! (We need a cooler team name.) Also, thanks to all the teachers who are baring with us as we work through the start-of-the-year student crises, particularly Monica, who is always running out of pencils. AND, thanks to the kind volunteers who helped with PBIS lesson roll-outs! Everyone is awesome!

Thanks to Laurie J. for taking an item off of my "to do" list. You updated my lunch board for me, and you didn't think it was a big deal since you were also updating your own. However, that really meant a lot to me and saved me some precious time. I'm so glad your are on our third grade team!

I appreciate that Donna Winslow checked in with me again, to see if I have any students that didn't qualify for OT but would like her to check in with. She came last Friday when the third grade had their field trip, first few moments without a student, and assessed 2 of my students. She shared a strategy for one student that we implemented that day (holding a cotton ball with 2 fingers while holding the pencil with a pinch). I made cotton balls available for all table kits for anyone else that wants to try this strategy.
