We have listened to pupils talking about their experiences in different parts of the world and compared these to the pupils’ own experiences. We have used the linking phrases, ‘instead of’ and ‘as well as’ (along with other conjunctions) to orally discuss similarities and differences, and we have transferred this to writing. The pupils completed a reading comprehension exercise about schools in Victorian times. It would be interesting to find out about schools in Vietnam 100+ years ago, and I have asked the children to research this. In Maths, we have been working on the addition of decimals and division. Global Perspectives this week has been focused around the pupils own research into communication methods of the past. They have posed their own questions and collated answers as a group to make the anecdotal evidence more robust.
Next week, in English, we will be using the conditionals ‘if’ and ‘unless’ in grammar, and we will investigate the use of modal verbs, particularly ‘would’, ‘should’ and ‘could’. The grammar will be taught and practised through the theme of problems at school. In Maths, we will investigate number sequences and extend our repertoire of mental calculation strategies. In Global Perspectives, the pupils will choose their own research project (linked to our communication topic) and complete the project, using the skills covered so far.

      Trong tháng đầu tiên, nề nếp của lớp đạt trung bình 405/400 điểm, xếp loại A. Cô Trang vô cùng tự hào và mong các con tiếp tục phát huy.
     Tuy nhiên, vẫn còn một vài điều các con có thể làm tốt hơn trong thời gian tiếp theo là thói quen gọn gàng, ngăn nắp thể hiện ở việc dọn dẹp bàn ghế, sắp xếp sách vở trước khi ra về và kĩ năng lập kế hoạch hoàn thành công việc dài hạn chứ không dồn lại vào những ngày cuối deadline.
